Mask it up then use a diamond tipped blade in a coping saw.

Yeah it's a hand tool and you might sweat a little but you'll get the result you're after.

thanks for that Madbung.........holding something that shape for a long time would prove difficult though.

Good news is that we cut it bit by bit with a 1 mm disc and a wet sponge underneath without lifting the paint.

It's been rubbed back along the edge and painted again and now waiting for the clear so thanks for everyones imput

I think I've narrowed it down to the electronic ignition module (I'm hoping it's not a strained wire somewhere inside the frame) which is a Crane Fireball Dual Fire system.

May have to come from the US + $AU = big $$.........I may temporarily run a Harley Ignition though FTL
