Fitting A Vq30det Turbo On A Rb20det

does any one know weather the turbo of a vq30det will go on a rb20det and if so what work has to be done to make it happen. one fell in to my lap and i am thinking of putting it on my ceffy? and how much power are they good for thanks for any answers.

no its the later model which was a vq30det the turbo is brand new

Have on on my rb20...had to build a spacer for compressor housing clearance with the exhaust manifold......my automatic transmission has been destroyed though......haha....alot more power...than stock

i believe all you gotta do is swap the rear housings with a rb20 one and it sould bolt straight up.

should be good for around 220rwkw

just fell into your lap. i like it, wish turbos were raining here.. got a T05 off a xr6t to rebuild and thinking of fitting that to mine

The VQ30 turbo isn't a popular swap for the rb20 as yet...mainly because they aren't that common...how big is the exhaust housing though? if its meant for a 3L engine i suspect it might be too big for the rb20...top end should be decent though...but if a bit if lag doesn't bother you...go for it...it might start a revolution...

its noticably laggier than the stock turbo.....but the boost/power response feels more smooth and speedo keeps climbing easily past 180KM/h.....

its power output & delivery is very similar to a VG30DET turbo (ppl often mistaken it for for a VG as well)

The downpipe has a wierd shape and the flanges have different shape from rb20det flange so some custom work required for the exhaust. The bore of the downpipe seems closer to 3" and bigger than stock also.....
