hi guys, i blew my turbo last night, and was looking at buying a replacement, roughly same size hopefully in a Ball Bearing setup.

My questions are as follows,

what is my flange type ?

what is my turbo housing dimentions ?

what is my compressor housing dimentions ?

( p.s - i was running a stock r33 s2 turbo no mods)

if someone can give me these details it would be greatly appreciated so i know what to look for when buying another.

S.

T3 flange, not sure what the exact specs are exhaust housing and compressor housing wise on the stock turbo.

Same size wise there isnt too much available, but then again if you are spending the money wouldn't you rather get something a decent size bigger? Your call.

Closest thing a little bit bigger is something like a 2530 or similar, just go something in a T28 series range if you want the same response as the stock turbo but atleast you'll have a bit more head room.

and the hard part is i dont want it to cost me an arm and a leg :S

i want it to be responsive and be a straight bolt on kit, so i dont have to do much fcucking around with lines oil hoses water etc.

tr43 is a good price/power upgrade.... but thats just it.... for me to upgrade to a tr43 I also had to get bigger injectors, afm and fuel pump... but then again.. I want to make more power..so I got parts that will help me in the future and allow for the turbo to make more power...

if you want to keep it still stockish and dont plan to make much over 200ish rwkw you could chuck it on and keep the stock supporting mods.

or... to be completely safe you could just get another stock s2 turbo (depending on quality) for between 300-500?

    • Last year I got a set of MCA street coilovers for my turbo Forester after my son hitting a concrete gutter/wall on a small bridge causing the whole drivers side suspension to get bent because the rain just made the car slide out I love them, I think they were $2400. even had a hiccup of have the wrong hub configuration (my fault) so got onto MCA and they sent the correct shock ends overnight parts from QLD, for free!  I was very impressed with their customer service and quality of the product
    • They've had some weird failures on their brake actuators. One of them was because they added some kind of lubricant to the factory fill brake fluid that aftermarket brake fluid didn't have so it would affect the seals. Another was just mysterious, probably internal corrosion or something eating away at Prius brake actuators. Parts alone for those are a few thousand USD so not a cheap fix.

    • KYBs are typically twin tube, putting them in the lower tier of desireability. Do you just want to replace worn out ones for the lowest cost? I mean, you wouldn't just replace one end of a car, if the rears are a similar age to the fronts, then they are probably nowhere near what they should be, and likely won't be great against brand new fronts. So, to spend ~$800 on 2nd tier dampers, when you could get a decent set of MCA coilovers for <$4k.....? As to the strut tops. 1st up, the Sparesbox site specifically tells you that they are not correct for an R33. Beyond that, why do you think you need them?
