alex1991s
DT panels charge $2500 for the basic respray on a 33, then its an extra $500 for inside the door, and for the windows to be removed its and extra $300, so $3300 all up, my car is going in there next week. R31Nismoid
Does that include engine bay as well? most certainly not. motor in/out is $1,000 from any workshop on average... Then to remove all the fittings, $500 at the very least if not more (its a mongrel of a job) So starting @ 5k taking an educated guess Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/242059-spraying-price/page/2/#findComment-4498409 Share on other sites
some_cs_student
Problem as in? My drivers side skirt has come loose from the body after been repaired about 4months ago, will find out how good they are at warranty pretty soon....probably this weekend... They're work is good, if you want excellent or your a perfectionist, you need to pay for it Should have mentioned I'm discussing DT Panels, not anyone else, and this is personal experience Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/242059-spraying-price/page/2/#findComment-4498485 Share on other sites
Belsil80
mate, just take your car somewhere to get quotes. there are people that seem to have no idea just talking crap because they can... farkin dribble. if you break it down, paint, labour, other materials... think about how long it takes. remove all panels and glass (if they dont remove glass, then dont bother), rub the whole thing back, prime, rub back, paint, put back together, get glass put back in... call it $100 an hour labour, they spend 3 days focusing on your car.. thats already 3g in labour. crap bodykits add a lot of time also. Mine, snowys, roscos, big red, brisbys, joeyjoejoe, tim, leewahs, Ash's, Ant97gtr are just some of the members that have used or are at micolour. Ben from racepace uses him and so does meridian motorsport. Ben from racepace uses him and so does meridian motorsport. Im with these guys. Now i havent had my car resprayed yet. Though Mick did spray my motor. he did a way better job then i was expecting. anyone that has seen my motor can tell you its awesome. The quote i have from Mick for my car resprayed is: Any damage found including small to big dints. damage on front bar lip. damage to front and rear bars. all repaired full respray of car. so removal of windows to an extent. this covers respraying the black back onto my windscreen wipers and around the sides top and bottom of my headlights. Paint around the window edges on the rear side windows. respray the front bar lip etc etc. How many places offer that? He'd probably redo the red thats faded on my GTR badge! all panels gapped properly. basically everything in a nutshell, the car will look as good as, or better then it did when it rolled off the assembly line. NO orange peel affect. dead flat smooth paint. Theres a lot more detail in what we discussed. Same stock colour as it is now. gunmetal grey. i wont tell you what he quoted but ill say it was getting closer toward 8k. im willing to pay it. on saying that, everyones cars are different. may have more or less damage so he will quote accordingly. If you want a $1000 job, that's exactly what your going to get and don't complain when there's paint runs, panel gaps all over the place, and not finished properly. It wont be right from the first day you get it....let alone 5 years Trust me....pay a little more....get a LOT better car...go see mick (micolour) and see what he says...but make sure you call him SHMICKO Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/242059-spraying-price/page/2/#findComment-4499949 Share on other sites

Yes they do, there is a secure lock-up off site. Only their parts cars/wrecks are left out at night because they don't care what happens to them. Lil_Lucky
just got my car back from dt panels a few weeks back. Got front and rear panel damage fixed, kit fitted and whole thing sprayed. _bobo_
ive spoken to few guys and they say dont take your kit to a panel beater or anything like that because they simply just want to fit a kit straight on and not worry about "making it fit" properly?? they said take it to people who specialize in fitting kits ect who will do a decent effort in wanting it to fit?? also...does DT panels do a good job incase the kit needs bit of extra work fitting it (gaps ect) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/242059-spraying-price/page/2/#findComment-4501914 Share on other sites
SS8_Gohan
if panel beaters don't fit kits, then who the hell else does??!! look, it's pretty simple. DT goes good work at good prices. End of story. Yes you can pay more, and yes you can get a better result. As has already been explained, you do probably have to spend around $7k to get an outstanding result. I don't know why we keep going around on these points? How many people are going to be concerned about how much OP is in their panels? How many people would know unless you pointed it out? DT is for most people who just want a good, solid job without the big price tag. Mr Gloss, Mi-Colour, Charli Batisti, etc are for the people who really want everything done exactly right but are prepared to pay for it. But there are still going to be enough people around (especially in the import community) who won't be able, in their eyes and opinion, to justify the price difference between the two. That's fine, all industries cater for all levels of customers, but there isn't really anything new to be said. DT is good at good prices, but yes there are better if you want to spend more, and that's really it. /end thread Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/242059-spraying-price/page/2/#findComment-4501986 Share on other sites

For the price I paid it is good. I could have had better, but not for the money I paid. I also didn't want to go all out only to damage it later anyway. In the two years since it resprayed I've scratched the rear bar carrying a full exhaust in the car, idiots have added new car park dings where I'd previously had them all removed and a mechanic took a chunk out of my front lip. And the car would be lucky to see one days use a week. No matter how much you try to keep things neat, someone will always f*ck it up for you.
