donkey
hey there my GTR has a LINK G4, no AFM's, profect B.......just a question my car has the profect set on 15lbs and 18lbs, my mechanic is going to do the 'cold start' next week, i asked him if he could set the profect to 20lbs instead of 18lbs, he hasnt mapped it over 18lbs will it have to go on the dyno to set the cold start, and would it have to go back on the dyno to map it to 20lbs? im guessing yes? am i asking a bit much of my standard internals (RB26) to run at 20lbs? rev limit set to 7400RPM, engine mint compression, no knocks etc....... cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/242084-gtr-tuning-question/ Share on other sites
Beer Baron
what turbos? that's the big factor you've left out. wont need to be on the dyno to re-do the cold start. will need to be on the dyno to set the boost control properly at 20psi. Beer Baron
well whether your engine can handle 20psi out of -5s is impossible to predict really. maybe it will maybe it wont. one thing is for sure the more boost and (with larger turbs) the more airflow you are putting into the engine the more likely any weakness is to show up. so it's your call really. the turbos can certainly take it no problem. if it were me and your engine is as good as you say then sure give it 20psi on the street. on the track (should you go there) maybe turn it down a bit for some safety.
