Car: '97 (JZX100) Toyota Chaser Tourer V

Colour Dark Green/Black (looks black in most light)

Engine: 1JZ GTE VVTi single turbo

Gearbox: 4Sp Auto

Price: $16600

I am the first Australian owner of this car which was bought as a grade 4B (very good condition) car from the auctions in Japan. It already had a new timing belt, the 3 piece, 17" Intelesse wheels, Rs*R lowered suspension, air filter, 3" stainless exhaust, and Dvd/Vcd player, and TRD front grille fitted.

Since purchase, I have fitted smoked front indicators, a full Trust Spec-M intercooler kit, Torsen LSD, 3" downpipe, and an Apexi Power FC ECU.

The car has been modified for economy (leaving plenty of potential for further performance from the current setup, and other mods, if desired), and after fitment of the above parts, gained both power (now 265HP at the wheels), and economy (gained about 100km per tank). It has been fastidiously maintained, and perfectly reliable. One of the best presented, sensibly modied Chasers in the country: mature enthusiast owner means all work has been carried out by professionals, and no corners cut.

Any enquiries, please either call me 0413003013, or email: [email protected]

Cheers,

Micah

Thanks for the offer, but I have another car already in compliance, so am looking for an outright sale.

Good luck with the sale!

Micah

Manual conversion would be around $5500-$6k if you paid to have all work done....assuming you could find a decent R154 Gearbox. That said, a Manual in the same condition as mine should have about a $8k premium, so I guess it would be a cost-effective exercise, if you look at it that way...

The cheaper option would be to get MV automatics to shift-kit the auto, and strengthen it, then retune the transmission and engine for better performance with the Power FC, and have a rip-snorting auto for very little outlay.

I know there's no substitute for 3 pedals, but auto suits these cars, IMO....

Thanks for the comments and free bump!

    • Excuse me for butting in....but which part of ADHD can be considered a superpower? I would have though it far more likely that some ASD comorbidity is more likely to be contributing to an ability to hyperfocus on something. ADHD being aimed somewhat in the other direction. My shed looks like your shed. My whiteboard list of unfinished projects has entries going back 15 years. I know what you're talking about - I just struggle to connect ADHD to the results being discussed.
    • Thanks for reaching out!  It's a blessing and a curse at the same time.  I'm undiagnosed but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it in me... I have more half started projects laying around my house, shed, garden, etc taking up space and money, destroying aesthetics than if I added up all of my mates projects together. But, ADHD gives me the ability to hyper focus on things that no mere mortal could even  comprehend.  A recent pool build is an example of that....  I dont know anyone else that would be dumb enough and focused enough to take on then complete something of that magnitude. I call ADHD a superpower but it can equally be completely destructive if not controlled and focusedon the right places. Addiction is a major concern to ADHD people and thankfully my addictions have been no worse than projects, XBOX, chocolate and being an arsehole! It's often hereditary and my 13 year old son is currently learning how to drive it at the moment. Keep lurking! If i can finally finish this bloody thing at some point it will be a win for all of us ADHD'ers! 🤪
    • I've been quietly following this thread for ages, but this one got me. Since my ADHD diagnosis (and associated learnings and prescription) I'm way less inclined to wade into forum yarns when there are better things to do with my time, as half the time I'd end up in some kind of forum debate even if that wasn't my intention. I've not lost the ADHD "superpowers", just am a lot better at directing my hyperfocus into slightly more constructive things, but haven't stopped quietly lurking in here in my spare time.
    • Stripped the tank down and gave it a good scrub. It came up really good! Not sure if I'll just put it back in like that or give it a blackening treatment (such as Bowdens The Black Box). That might give it a matte look so might just run it as is.
    • @MBS206 Ha ha, yeah ADHD is a daily battle to not get drawn in to doing things you want to do that you know you shouldn't do!  Every single time I walk into my shed I end up doing something I started the day having zero intention of doing! I keep mentioning the 1 step forward, 3 steps back scenario and I'm tipping people that are blessed with ADHD (yes, blessed) are the worst at that!
