turbo about to die

well it looks like my turbo has decided to die as it has started making very sick noises as of yesterday... so it looks like im in for an upgrade.

anyway, what i need to know is it safe to drive until the turbo dies, or is it possible that it can cause engine damage..

If it ****es itself completely, theres a chance itll lose metal bits into ure intake, that means hot metal into ure cooler, and even worse, into a cylinder, bye bye piston...

Play it safe.

Pete it could be a loos bolt that mounts the turbo .

Dont assume its your turbo when funny sounds come when its on boost. Quite a few people have assumed that while it has only been a loose or a broken bolt. Get it checked out before you depress yourself for nothing my friend.

What kind of noises is it making? Mine's seems to have a squeal that it shouldn't...

Mine has been blowing a haze of white smoke the first time I hit boost if I havn't driven it for around 4 or 5 hours.

I've been told its the turbo on its way out but its been like this for around 1 year ?!?! And Running 1 bar.
