yeah, I had to roll the guards to fit Formula R 265s on the rear. 265 road tyres fit OK, but they are different rims so there may be an offset difference as well.

BTW, I'm not sure if I said it before, the difference in grip between normal road tyres and R type tyres is AMAZING!

Yeah, I reckon if you fitted 265 R series, they'd proabably foul the guards

Yep, they are amazingly grippy compared to'normal' road tyres, although the Azenis I had weren't anyhting special until they were very warm, but I guess they were no worse than a normal tyre when cold

How much for 255/35/18 in the re540?

I should have bought this one,

I did not realise they come in 17 and 18. This was not in some of the old brochure :D

The SO3 that i've got are not tooo bad though

How long does the re540 normally last for you guys?

have a chat to an Importer and see if they know a wholesaler in Japan

I can get a hold of semi comps, the new Dunlop series that has just come out over there (but aint graced out shores from what i've been told) and they can be had for under $200 in 16"

The retail shops make silly amounts on tyres these days over here and it stinks

how many kays do you think the RE55S would be good for given its a daily driver and i'd have the occasional trackday? you think you can get 25k out of them???

i'm after an all-in-one tyre, but i dont think im going to get it. i guess i would compromise wet performance because i drive like a pansy in the wet anyways =)

25,000 - honestly, I reckon you'd be stretching it to get 15,000 out of them, but I guess it all depends on how good you keep a check on your wheel alignment and stuff. They can't be swapped from side to side either, so I reckon RE540S might last a little longer on becasue you can swap them from side to side.

I've clocked almost 1,500km on them so far (almost 3weeks!!!) and they are nicely scrubbed in now. I have got the stock rims and tyres that will be going on after this weekend for daily driving, just becasue I want to save the good tyres for summer

If you are after a good all round tyre, i'd go for S03's, they are terrific, and you 'should' get around 25-30,000 out of them, and they are awesome in the wet

You can swap directional tyres from side to side, I do this all the time as I don't have enough camber and the outside of the tyres wear first.

Just get someone to rotate them on the rims, then swap sides, abotu $20 per wheel (gets me another 2 trackdays :) )
