Haha, I know what you mean about eating, sleeping and dreaming about GT-Rs...here is mine, which is currently on its way over here...

I'm shooting myself in the foot here, but if you want one straight away, you'd be hard pressed to get better than Beer Baron's car...

oh baby.... sweet car mate! 34 VII N1. love it! they look so cool in white with a few nice bits. the great thing about the 'special' GTRs is they are usually bought by guys who look after them since they commanded high premiums over the regular models when new. I've found that 4 out of 5 'special' GTRs I come across were in excellent condition (regular 34s maybe 2 in 5 are good). so even though they are so rare, when you finally do find one there is a good chance it'll be in top order.

I really like the sideskirts too. I reckon when you're keen for a change get some of the same nismo sideskirts, but in carbon, and a lower lip in carbon to match. it looks amazing on a white car.

I imported a full carbon wide body for a 34 race car here, that has the similar design sideskirts to the nismo one, but much more exagerated and they are just insane. and look so nice in bare carbon.

these ones (I know, totally impractical for a road car, but wait till you see this one finished!):

If you ever bring the N1 to sydney give me a shout, I'd love to come and check it out. I bet you can't wait to get your hands on it.

I'm also selling my clean Silver 99 R34 GTR that has just landed. I sure didnt buy it at the best time and with current financial situations need to sell it. The big plans won't eventuate... Have to stick with my R32.

Will create a thread in forsale when I take some pics.

So anyone interested in a clean, straight R34 GTR in Aus (currently in Syd, will bring it up to QLD net week) landed and rego'd well under $50k, please pm me.

Cheers

Michael

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the heads up... but the girl of my friends wears a bayside blue dress and has a necklace on her neck that says GTR... so I can only follow my pre-destiny... LOL

But good luck with the sale mate... I'm sure you'll do well.

Good luck.

Regards,

Kevin

yep; wrong time to buy, unless the AUD continues to fall against the Yen!!!. but, a man's gotta have, what a man's gotta have!!!. as an example: when I imported my GTR [R32] the price paid at auction was 2m JY, roughly $20k AUD, with the rate what is was then. to pay 2m JY for a car now will cost roughly $31k AUD. obviously, the import charges remain the same, but it's still a big difference with the Aussie $ starting to resemble the Mexican Peso in buying power offshore.

import charges are not the same , customs taxes are payed in the value of the car in the current exchange rate and shipping is usually in us dollars although with some exchange rate corrections

very difficult to get a cheap GOOD r34 gtr at the moment . even with the seller taking a hit on their already reduced prices , say 2.5m that would be just under 50k to just land it , let alone comply register and transfer into your name lct if applicable repairs tyres panel and paint etc etc etc

and of coarse some economists are predicting the dollar to hit 40c us , I dont even want to contemplate r34 gtrs at that exchange rate!

the mexican peso looks good in compo to the aussie , the aud is the 2nd most devalued currency (worked agaist economic performance , gdp etc) in the developed world just behind iceland

:) you are correct; I was thinking of 'compliance etc' costs to get the car on the road in Aus.

Iceland is bankrupt!.

Kevin I think I found a pic of your other half, although she didn't have the GT-R necklace on...

Absolute gold!!! ;)

Yep... pretty much sums it up... LOL

BTW, I got your email and the attached customer form - will complete it soon.

I can't wait for the Aussie dollar to climb abit... can you start looking for me please.

Cheers.

Kev

    • Haha actually I did join back then under a different email address,  I couldn't re-activate my account so made a new one! I didn't post much anyway so not missing out on much. Amazing to see how the value of the cars and parts has changed over the years, also ACT section appears to be dead now.
    • Thanks... It's in pretty good condition overall, probably due to not being drifted/tuned however being a daily driver has taken its toll. Had 100k on the clock when I got it, up to 180k now. Unfortunately it's not 100% dent free, it's got a small dent on FLH side and broken indicator from where I hit a small kangaroo at high speed. If you look at closely at pic #5 you might spot the dodgy trailer light repair my old man and I rigged up as temporary repair! - It's still there due to a combo of needing the car as daily driver and then too lazy/busy to fix properly. I've a couple of other minor accidents accidents as well but nothing major. One required a new front bar and unfortunately the smash repairer ordered the normal gtst one and not the aero bar. Needed the car back asap so just went with it, regretted ever since.
    • I can't believe that anyone is foolish enough to believe that the base maps are for any other purpose than to drive the car up onto the trailer/truck or gently creep it to the dyno. No matter how good they are, they can never be any better than the factory maps**, and only the foolish trust those on a significantly modified setup. **Yeah, yeah. I know there's also the difference between factory maps being fixed to certain injector sizes and MAP/AFM/VE relationships, and the likely aftermarket ECU base maps being better able to handle the sorts of changes that would render a stock ECU dangerous, like different sized injectors. But let's just ignore that for the moment, because the principle is still the same.
    • I'm shocked, you've owned a Skyline since 2006 and never joined SAU before now! 😮   Welcome, it's much quieter these days than it was in 2006, but lots of very knowledgeable ones lurk around here. I actually think in outage we've forgotten more about Skylines than anyone knows about them today... 😛
    • So it could give us some info. Such as we find out what number they started at, and we know how many of those blocks came before it.
