Hey guys,

I got pulled over for driving and unregistered vehicle last night..not a problem the rego ran out mid october and I was gonna pay it next week..so the fine I'll cop without a problem..do the wrong thing pay for it as far as I'm conerned..

however I was just wondering the officer didnt actually issue me a ticket on the spot..is this a common practice nowdays and you get it in the mail instead?

also anyone know what the fine is likely to be?? Im pretty sure I don't lose demerit points according to the vicroads website but I'm interested in what Ill be paying..

thanks..

i got the same thing but i payed mine the day before i got pulled over . paid it online and it didnt come up on vic roads logs that it was paid, so i got the fine on the spot. i got out of the fine later on but it was sumfin like $552 or about that.

Curious what did the cop say when you told him you paid? Was he ok about it? And what did VicRoads say to you when you called about the fine and telling them that you DID in fact pay

Damn VicRoads...

I payed my rego on my daily a little while ago, and about a month and a half later they sent me a letter in the mail telling me I'm driving around in an unregistered car.

What actually had happened is their credit card system stuffed up, subsequently making hundreds of people receive fines from the police for driving unregistered. Luckily I didn't get pulled up in this time.

i got pulled up about a month ago now...he said its 570 dollars id just come back from mount buller at the time so didnt have much time ro pay the rego, but the cop was good about it...the only thing he said was is look i cant let you go coz its come up on my screen and i need to save my ass which i was cool about...

but i never recieved an on the spot or in the mail..

prior to this i got a stop sign ticket and and no licence on me fine both of those were recived in the mail about 2 weeks after the incedent

stop sign ticket? i'm just gonna throw my guess out there and see what happens but i'm guessing you mean that you didn't stop at a stop sign and you got fined for it? if so..WTF?

I'd paid my Rego and forgot to put the sticker on... ...I was lucky because the cop wanted to fine me for it... ...but there are no rules when it comes to which sticker you display (as far as I know)... ...it all comes down to if you've paid it or not...

I believe that the fine is now $567 for Unregistered. There are no demerit points attached. I am sure that if you have paid rego and receive a fine for unregistered as Vic Roads haven't updated it (which actually happens quite a bit) just send in copy of receipt/Bpay on Stat Dec to civic compliance with fine and they cancel the fine.

Yes it's definirely an offence not to have current rego label afixed and is $57 fine no demerit points again.

With fines in mail it's a common practice to issue them later in mail.

Hope this answers a few questions.

Thanks graeme sure helps.. Good thing we have a specialist in the field hey lol..I've paid the rego now..but I've learnt my lesson pretty quick about taking the driving with no rego chance :D

my big problem was I brought the car a month before the rego expired..because it's so close to the expiration date vicroads doesnt issue a label cause its already gone to the old owner instead your meant to ring them and pay via credit card..which I don't have.. so I got them to mail a payment letter out and continued to drive until the payment letter arrived not knowing it was wrong since I was waiting for the label.. I know its wrong now and I did the wrong thing so I'll cop it and pay for it..the officer was a good bloke and I had a bit of a lugh with him so I can't complain...

    • Weird the Gktech one doesn't have the 3 holes and is only a 5min install if you have the standard front bar.
    • Honestly, as someone on the standard PS4 controller, should be relatively easy to get gold. Remember you have more grip than you think.

    • @Duncan can you put the Link in, and measure all the power input voltages with a multimeter. Specifically looking for one that is low.   Then put the other ECU in that it runs on, and measure those voltages again with a multimeter?   If all of your voltages read normal on both ECUs, but the link is still reading low internally, your issue IS the LINK. If the voltages drop low on the multimeter while the Link is plugged in, but not other ECU, then the issue COULD be wiring in the car, or it COULD be the ECU. To rule out wiring, work out how with an ECU removed, you can trigger all the necessary relays, and then measure resistance from the pin that is reading low at the ECU, to the batteries positive power.   I have a sneaking suspicion your issue is the link, it's not reading the voltage properly, possibly a dry joint, or a Cap dieing, and because voltage is low, it's likely attempting to compensate on fuelling and the engine won't run.
    • Hi there, Does anyone here have the carbonetics slam panel installed on their R34 GTT? Or used to have one and got some pics of how it sat? https://carbonetics.net/products/1999-2002-nissan-skyline-r34-gtt-cooling-slam-panel?srsltid=AfmBOoo6Uz0nuxGI3qC0sn56KJI6PMgh0OvV-pbegsPDHTtTxz4IMljc I’m just trying to get an idea of how they sit once installed but these guys have no pics.  biggest question I’m trying to figure out is what the hell the 3 holes at the front of the panel are 😂 and where they bolt    Thanks in advance
