Hey guys,

I am a newb to the skyline seen and just been doing a bit of research. Just got a question to ask, sorry if it seems stupid or if the answer is really obvious.

Just wondering I have a budget of $25k to play with, is a R33 GTR V-spec gettable? There are 2-4cars on carsales at this price but was wondering would these things be money pits? Should I not even consider a 33 v-spec with a budget of $25k?

Thanks fellas

Edit- should also specify that I understand the gtr aint a cheap car to run, its just I want to know if I can get a decent condition one for 25

I would be looking at $20-$22000 mark, you can buy them at that price and in good condition. Or even look at a R32 GTR with mods there is certainly good buying out there. :(

Whats ur location, i have been looking at one on carsales at Albany Creek in Brisbane. Its in excellent condition for $23000. I would buy it today, but renovations on the house come first at the moment.

Hiya,

First of all, welcome to SAU Forums!

Sorry for the vague response, but it may be possible to get a good R33GT-R V-Spec for $25K = "it depends"

For instance, it may not be a really low Km vehicle for that price - and yet, you may still pick out a good one.

One has to wonder why the seller is selling.

Are you or your mechanic friend (assuming you have one) familiar with GT-Rs when you inspect them?

Do you have a reasonable income to maintain the vehicle?

Do you want to modify the vehicle?

Are you wanting to buy one as stock or modified?

You haven't asked yet, what to look for when you're picking out one, but I assume you'll do a 'Search' eh?

If I were in your shoes, yes, I'd keep my eyes peeled for a decent R33 GT-R V-Spec with that budget.

And when you find one, a good one, it'll be better than 'oh what a feeling'!!

Tez

a few points to think of before you buy a skyline, in reference to upkeep and future spending:

1: you WILL modify it... heaps...

2: you WILL modify it... heaps...

3: you WILL modify it... heaps...

4: you WILL modify it... heaps...

5: you WILL modify it... heaps...

6: you WILL modify it... heaps...

7: you WILL modify it... heaps...
