What typically creaks when opening a car door - it seems to be the pin in the middle of the door that controls the detents (ie how the door likes to open halfway or full way, there's a pin that an arm pivots on attached to the car body).

I've tried greasing it but it doesn't seem to help, are these replaceable? How to remove just hammer them out?

tried that.. seemed to help for 1 day tops then it creaks again. WD (or Inox) is worse because it displaces all the grease. Lithium grease was OK but still doesn't produce a lasting effect, a day or 2 later it's groaning again.

thanks for the suggestions guys.. i tried some regular grease in a tub, knocked out the pin and pulled everything else apart, degreased it all to get rid of the old crap then lubed it up with new grease and put it all back together. Now the groaning is gone but I still get the occasional dull "pop" noise. At least it's liveable, would like it to be completely silent again though!
