Hey

I have an aftermarket steering wheel on my R33 GTR, I have removed the clock spring since the airbag is not in use and am running the wheel with a boss kit

Problem I have is on occasions when I am driving, if I corner hard or even power out of a corner the HICAS light comes on... Usually stays on for a few KM then goes off

I know this is due to the car having an after market wheel because when I reverted back to the standard wheel from aftermarket there was no issues

Question is, why is the HICAS light coming on, what's it doing/not doing when the light comes on and will it effect performance in any way?

Is there any way to trick the HICAS and stop the light from coming on?

Thanks

To my knowledge HICAS has sensors that determine the position of the steering wheel....Unless your boss kit is designed for the GTR (ie not a genetric one) then HICAS reports an error and does not work correctly.
