Evening lads and ladies....

Im relatively new to all things skyline, but am really craving the knowledge you guys have to offer. I'd really like to know more about the gorgeous car.

Please, talk of models, performance, features and all.... It'd be much appreciated.

Im thinking of investing in one in the next few months, but would really like to learn more. So I figure, where better to ask then this friendly Victorian forum?

Also, bearing in mind that I'm on my P plates, what is legal to drive? and what circumstances do I need to get exemptions from vicroads?

Thanks a lot folks.

And yeah, insurance for these is $$$$, I was quoted $4000 for comp from Just Car Insurance...ouch. Went for 3rd party with F&T.

i always forget about the GTS-4... normally just include them as being the same thing :D

gts-4 is heavier.. so its even more inside the power-weight limit..

R33 turbos are illegal, due to power-to-weight ratios.

Why do you think you can get exemptions from this?

You can get exemptions if the car is for work as well as social, if its the only car you can drive in your family and a few other reasons.

And what do I need to do to get special exemptions from vicroads?

Thing is, while I haven't heard of it being enforced at Vicroads, if a cop pulls you over they might fine you for it. Quite a few members here have been fined for that sort of thing. Same with insurance, while they will insure a car over the power-weight if you have an accident they *might* not cover you. Its hard to say.

Oh yer, make sure you have your manual license if you have a manual, or they can (and will) do you for that too.

You cant do much at all. The car will have to be to only one in the family/household, and the only time you'll be able to drive it is when it is for family duties (getting the daily bread, or dropping younger bro off at school for eg).

Just get a car thats under the limit and save the hassle.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
