R32 Lacking Power Above 3500

Hey guys,

My 32 (rb20) has developed a problem and I'm hoping someone can shed some light on what may be causing it.

It first happened a month or two ago and is doing it more frequently now. What it feels like is that once it gets to about 3500 revs it's being choked and it doesn't want to make any more power. It feels the worst in 2nd gear but that might just be the way the gearing is set up. The car still revs all the way to 7000 and still holds 12 PSI till redline as well.

If I pull over and turn my car off then turn it back on it will be fine again. This leads me to believe it may be something electronic. I've checked all my plugs for anything that could be loose and all seems to be fine.

Has anyone else had an issue of this sort? Any help would be greatly appreciated

BTW, Car is stock other than exaust, FMIC and fuel pump.

hard to say, more then likely it is either leaning out or running very rich, both will drop the power, a dyno would confirm either situation and go from there, but check for any leaking/split intercooler pipes etc that could cause the mixtures to be out and also crappy pod filters that are either getting sucked closed or need a good clean.

only other thing i can think of is, do you run a quality premium 98 octane fuel in your car?

if not, the ecu could be pulling ignition timing if it's pinging from low octane fuel which will also drop the power a little.

my car was similar.. i got it dynod and the bloke there said i had saved my engine, it was running very rich - popping flames continuosly.... it sounded really rough. i got it fixed and it all good

it may be your air flow meter...

you should get it fixed asap in my opinion.

hope its not as bad as my car though,

goodluk
