buy calling them up telling them you used the east link give them your rego and pay. simple.

i have my skyline registered for eastlink but not my daily magna have used it several times not invoices yet called up and they had it all on records.

how can you pay if you dont have the bill???!!!

The signs etc tell you that you have to pay.

By going on the toll road (when they give phone numbers etc) binds you to the fee's...

Ive had stuff arrive from the sheriff a while ago i didnt even know i had as it was from an old address (two houses earlier) and i hadn't updated it so it missed my interim address etc.

Wasnt a big amount, but a pain none the less as its your responsibility to update address and pay for useage etc

Eastlink should fix thier car database.

I cant register online because I own imports. Last time I checked, there was no provision for a Soarer 91-00, Supra and Skylines.

I cant even register the GSXR 1000 online either and you have to pay for bike usage (which is BS).

yeh my cars registered as a 78 skyline, go figure

The crap thing is you can't pay fines that are over 3 days late until they arrive at your house and that's whats annoying, i've rung them up and asked if they were coming etc and they couldnt give me any information as it was older than 3 days, said i'd just have to wait

citylink tell you the same thing which is very annoying

EastLink is having problems with their systems right now, which is expected when systems and processes are completely new. It gives me a head ache everyday.

I work for CityLink (dont shoot me) and know how the system works.

My advice is to call them and find out if there is anything outstanding for your rego. If your lucky their system may have had a melt down at the time you travelled. If you are things have progressed from the EastLink Late Toll Notice your in trouble.

The next port of call is Civic Compliance Victoria (CCV) and a $113 fine, which if you want to contest you won't have a leg to stand on, not even if it went to the wrong address. Its simple, you used EastLink and failed to pay within 3 days and there response to "i never got the notice" will be the same. It is your duty to ensure they have your correct address at all times.

Also be aware you will be fined $113 for each day of travel and CCV have up to 12 months to issue a fine.

Yeh my address is fine, even have both cars registered with them currently and have accounts, so what your saying is if they go back and see travel from 4 months ago that, they have never sent out invoices for, i'll cop fines for being 4 months overdue?

I didn't bother first few times because i had no credit card and was just waiting on the invoices in the mail so i could get my old man to pay em for me but.. they never came

give them a call to see if invoices were issued in the first place. they will be able to run you rego through their invoice system.

If no invoices were issued in the first place you should be clear.

My Sister works For Eastlink. So i'll ask her WTF is up! as I have drivin on it a few times with no tag or account. still have not got a bill either. hopefully sis can shed abit of light on this.

    • Does that price include the rack time to straighten the frame and body and replacement of parts and paint, as well as the noise and emmisions testing  The last engineering certificate I had done, albeit about 15 years ago, was around $1000 for a few inspections and the certificate
    • 😂 thanks guys. The diagram i had did not have the breather on it at all. Much appreciated.
    • Geez, engineers fees have definitely gone up. Mine back 2007 cost me all of $300. Mind you, I had to go back to him a few times to get him to write the correct things on the report after he'd inspected it. Things like wrong exhaust size, wrong wheel sizes, etc etc.
    • Can we see a scan of the original quote? The problem with engineers (and by this, I mean, all engineers across all engineering industries) is that there are "engineers" and there are "engineers" (you'll have to imagine the two different vocal emphases on those two versions of the same word. Engineering is a mindset - your farm kid who spent his life rebuilding the tractor will likely make a good engineer. The farm kid who spent his life taking photos of butterflies.. perhaps not. But on top of that mindset, the modern engineer has to learn how to write so that there is absolutely no way of being misunderstood. Proposals/budget estimates/quotations are one place where this is absolutely vital. You have to delineate your scope of supply with extremely hard boundaries, and anywhere where there is any possibility of not being able to have such a hard boundary, you need to write language that will cover you from scope creep, cost overruns, the inevitable interference of the client or their "engineer", etc etc. Now, if your clients are the BHPs and the Rio Tintos of the world, and similar, then you get good at this. If you are an automotive engineer, pitching work to the great unwashed masses, your skills in this area might not be well developed, because you're only dealing with knuckle draggers trying to get a big block legal in a Torana. And when I say "might not"....I'd suggest there's a better than even chance that any such skills might be completely absent. So, we might be able to look at your quote and see what the opportunities are for rebuttal.
