Does anyone know what details I require for a 1 day Unregistered Vehicle Permit? The manual and export certificate I have is in Japanese so i'm a bit stuck if they require anythin more than Type of car and Chasis number.

Complied. I got a list of things required. I'm having trouble finding the Engine Number & the Year/Month of Manufacture. I think I will have to find someone who can read Japanese.

if its compiled then it should be on the plate that they stick inside the engine bay normally on the strut housing

also things to check for is an australian tyre placard on the inside of the drivers door you should have got this when the car was complied if its not there try the inside of the glove box.

for a permit just go to dickson or an act shopfront and they cost like $33 for a week.
