hey guys got my sard 280 installed a fw days ago, have been driving the car here and there and not running hwo it should or hwo it used to run, yous guys think it will need some kind of a retune or about 1hrs dyno time, the car also cut out for liek the 1st time today, i bought the pump and it seems to be in excellent condition but car isnt running how it was, maybe because its pumping more fuel and the injectors cant take it, yous guys htink it needs a retune because if it does its better to just upgrade the injectors and gett it retuned but i knwo thecar aint going nowhere as it still has the stock turbos and they are useless, what do yous guys think, upgrade the injectors because i dont have the cash for the turbos atm but in the next couple months can get a pair of gt2860r -5 or sumfin,

please guyas tell me what could be the problem or if the car just needs a retune and so if it does yous think upgrading the injectors would be a good idea?

cheers tony

Me either. If the old fuel pump was dying... then the new one should fix any problems...

Was the old pump even tested before being pulled out? If not, then you really cant say its got anything to do with the pump

Take it to a workshop.

what im trying to say is with my old pump it was running fine but after i got my new sard 280 pump installed it feels like it has lost a bit of power and running much more rich as i can easily smell the fuel, so now im guessing the car will probably need a hours dyno tune just to check the fuel mixtures but if it does need a retune i think its a good time to upgrade the injectors, right?

Well no-one will know, youve gotta check the AFR's. If the old tune was on a dying pump (which you really would hope wasnt the case, but sounds like it) then adding a new pump could make it super rich. Could even be a fuel reg dying and over fuel.

You really cant tell over the internet.

Injectors - Not if you have stock turbos??? Its wrong time.

Then you gotta tune it a 3rd time when you get the turbos, i fail to see the point in doing injectors now as there is no benefit what so ever if your only going to change it again and again. Wasted money on tunes

i put sard 720cc in mine the stock inj were 95% maxed out at 262rwkw on the stock r32 turbos on 13psi....

with the new pfc it was as easy as putting the new inj in loading up my old map and putting in to the lap top the new inj sard 720cc and it just loaded up my old map for the new 720cc inj

cost very little and no time at all to do!

but i would get some one to look at it first for your fuel pump problem..... im about to put my sard pump in and was told its just a straight bolt in and no need for a retune at all!!!

    • Ok, can confirm.  if you use it like a normal human being in the real world, it works fine.  it only starts crossing wires if I keep using the fob over and over again in a very short period. So if I just chill the f**k out, it works 😂😂
    • Im about to run a e30 mix of e85 and 98ron but i read that australian fuels specifically 98ron doesnt contain ethanol so on the calculator when it says pump ethanol percentage do i just put 0 or is this statement even true? And if it is true i assume i dont need to test any 98ron pumps.
    • So... the fob I had for my Skyline always had this issue where the "Unlock" button worked with no issues but the "Lock" button did nothing (and I always had to lock with the key) I thought I'd try resetting and pairing the key to the car today to see if that fixes the issue. I did the standard steps to program a key but realised my central locking was doing its own thing from time to time. 1st time: The driver-side doors would not lock or unlock when using the fob. No issues with the key. I figured it was the right time to change the battery in the fob so decided to go get one. When I went to the shop all doors locked and unlocked with the fob (while it had the old battery 🙃)   2nd time: When I locked the car, it would lock itself and immediately unlock. If I unlocked it, it would unlock and immediately lock.   3rd time:  After a bit of cursing and praying, that weird bug stopped. But then the rear passenger door started being a pain. It wouldn't really follow what the fob was asking it to do. Sometimes even using the key would not do what I wanted. So I'd lock the car with the key and all doors would lock, but the rear passenger lock didn't do anything at all. And then after a few moments, it would work again.   Is there a fuse that I should be looking at? or, is this one of those things where the door card needs to come off and some unit needs to be replaced? It just seems to happen from time to time and if I give her some space and come back later, there are no issues  🤦‍♂️ Also, should I try to program the fob again to the car just to see if that solves it?
    • One would assume a turbo is somewhere in its future down the line given they slap turbos on pretty much everything that arrives
    • I’m guess it’ll end up with a turbo
