Help!engine Light Indicator Comes On R34 Gtt!

Recommended Posts

You running standard boost levels and tune Mike?

Yeah bud, bought it privately awhile back "unmolested", only mods it had were a BOV and rear strut. Probably needs a tune at some point

Can't tune the factory ECU unfortunately. Unless you put a NISTUNE chip on it. You should go back to 1.1mm plug gap when you put the splitfires in.

Bigger gap after the coils go in? Why is this? Don't need to compensate for the shorter gap with the Splifires?

Biggest gap you can have without misfire is the best. The reason people gap to .8 or even .6 is failing coil packs or big boost. Since you will have neither you should go back to the recommended 1.1 gap.

No worries, that's what we're here for.

Hey Cadmoon, am I going to be right to re-gap already previously gapped plugs? As they were a 1.1 standard but I gapped down to 0.8 - only had them in for around 3000ks. These are the NGK BCPxxxES

If you have a primary ignition code it is the coils. Gapping won't fix a dodgy pack.

No but it can sometime get you out of trouble if you can't get new ones for whatever reason.
