Hi all, im going to be flying to Japan possibly in Feb next year.

My missus who lives over there in Yamanashi/Kanagawa thinks that it would be easier for her if i fly into Haneda airport....i believe this is Tokyo's old international terminal.

I will be flying from Brisbane, i havent been to any travel agent yet as ive been working flat out.... thats in the plans for the weekend.

Has anyone flown into Haneda before and if so i think u must make a stop over in either Shanghai, Hongkong or Seoul....any reccommendations???

Any info that u guys can give me would be great

Im just looking for the easiest route

Thanks guys

I have flown into Haneda, but on a domestic flight from Osaka with ANA.

Haneda is primarily a domestic airport, but I do know they are chasing more international business. The main thing that you need to look at, is the additional cost of the two air tickets if you decide to route through another country, as I do not think that this will be possible with a single airline. What might be a good alternative is to fly to Osaka with JAL or Qantas/Jetstar and then get a cheap internal flight with one of the Japanese airlines into Haneda.

The other alternative, is just to fly to Narita, the main Tokyo airport, and then get the train or limo bus into Tokyo central. This is about JPY 3,000 and takes about an hour on the train or 1.5 on the bus.

But you will have a great time, I love visiting Japan, and it is excellent if you have a local guide... :D
