Hi Guys,

I have an R35 on order and was redoing some details with my dealer the other day, the latest news for Australian GTR's is that there will be no Launch control. Due to the failing transmissions and the issue with voided warranties Nissan Australia will not be having the Launch control function on the Australian cars.

I hope no one was pinning their decision to buy the car on 0-100 in 3.3 seconds, you won't be able to achieve that here.

Cheers,

Gibbo

Yup i knew it...there was no way nissan australia would bring in a sports car without trimming a couple of hairs.

Well on the positive side IF someone should now run into transmission issues Nissan can't turn around and say "well you used LC so now you're stuffed buddy".

And given everyone that I know that has one of these cars here and is using them in motorsports aren't using the LC anyways so except for hero's I don't see it as a huge issue anyways.

The car has proven good for 11's with no LC on the drag strip and sub 4s 0-100 without LC in the hands of private owners. This is with the crap they call petrol in the US as well.

Launch control might be fun but no doubt far too much stress on a car to have as an everyday feature.

I must say I did not buy the car for the launch control function, so that is kind of lucky, I bought it for track days and the occassional bit of rally fun. The dealer enformed me however that any timed event is regarded as a race and has the potential to void your warranty, this got to me because I intended to Dutton Rally it next year. I have told them that it had better not be speed limited either, they replied that this should not be an issue for the Asutralian cars.

I guess time will tell, however, no launch control ....mehh I don't mind as long as there is no speed limiting, just looking forward to the car.....I have been told mine might arrive within the next 4 months...fingers crossed.

There whole transmission/ structural set up is a whole failure!! Nissan JP should have delayed the arrival of the GTR until they fixed the bloody problems.

I would hate to own one.
