Hicas And Powersteering Problems..need Some Help

hi guys...i own a r33 SII 96model..on start up the hicas light does not show..have a feeling the previous own removed it maybe due to problems..the powersteering will sometimes go hard basically having no powersteering at all..have checked the pump and nothing seems to be damaged or loose and the belt doesnt seem to be slipping on the pulley..would the hicas have anything to do with the steering being hard? also have been told that i hicas lock bar might be of help since the hicas mite be fkd.the powersteering will sometimes work when the car is started in the morning when is hasnt been driven for a while..if anyone has experinced this or has any info that would be awesome..thanks guys

i heard that i can get a hicas lock bar from skylines australia for about $40..just wondering how id go bout doing that..and im located in melb so can it be pick up or does it need to be posted..thanks

A lock bar won't fix you power steering woes. Search for hicas diagnostic. You will need a working hicas dash light for the pulse train though so fix that first.

Go through the basics. Check the fuses. if they are fine, the old owner may have taken the bulb out of the dash cluster? also check your fluid levels etc etc.
