Gear Box Options

ok guys as im about to start my build for my race car,

i was going to get rid of the RB20DET box i have at home (6000km since rebuilt) and maby use a RB25 or getrag box with a ppg strnthed gear set. then i saw this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ge...99#entry4209999 and thought maby just keep the Rb20 box and throw one of these in.

the eng will most likly be a RB34DE (when spoolimports finish the 3.4L crank) and will be in a R32 GTS 4dr.

i plan to enter circute type races.

Depends on the power and use of the car.

RB20 boxes are worth pissing on IMO. Dont even bother wasting money on a gearset.

RB25 box will hold big power, plenty of cars into the 9's with them on sticky rubber so i doubt you'll need much more.

RB26 Getrag - no point. By the time you lop everything and make it fit, it wont offer much more than the RB25 box @ over triple the cost

A R32 or R33 GTR 5 Speed stock gear box is good for 500kW.

Or see if you can get a set of OS Giken Gear sets in the box, hehehe!!!

heh even with a 3.4 litre N/A you might make more power than your average r32, i highly doubt you're going to make more than 160kw atw

in reality, an rb20 gearbox would probably be more than enough

why would you go to all that trouble to only make a DE motor?....
