The Y Pipe and general construction is next.

The Y pipe looks like it would seal ok.

This side looks ok...

BUT .... this side has special overlap that to the untrained eye looks like a jagged peice of "couldn't be stuffed" restiction action. However it was designed in a wind tunnel by the chinese space program. :banana:

Having a look from the big end makes it even worse or better....if you are enjoying the chinese fabrication show so far. I have to take another pic of that, post later.

Couple of pics of the super power iron fist casting technique and the superb finish it results in. High flow bumps and casting imperfections err I mean improvements

I knew the lead sinkers I make in the back shed were too smooth to work well after seeing this.

You need special chinese hose clamps to hold onto these sort of oval-ish shaped cast nipples.

Check out these "metal look" "Trust - style" airfilters. Yes the nut on the top comes with a light protective 'rust coloured' coating from the factory. No need to wait!

Those little bumpy bits are chunks of plastic from the moulding process. They are super high octane and ready to go into the motor at times of high boost for extra performance. They rub off easily along with the chrome paint with just your fingers. Cool stuff ! :banana:

I've got the intake stuff off at the moment to get at some other things.

So I might demonstrate the issue the pipes I have seem to have with the flange angle. The angle of the flanges ensure a perfect non-fit. I can see how these ones were cast badly on the flange sides . It's possible to get them to fit if you cut them and reweld the flanges back on at the correct angle. They are only slightly off but, enough to ensure they will never fit.

Then again do people have enough info now, to know why they should go out and buy 4 sets right away

i have the intercooler piping kit on my car, came with the intercooler i got

and i cant complain, it does what its meant to and lines up pretty well etc

hey they had to have one positive comment right? lol but i see ur point, above pictures show some pretty dodgy work

the pics of the flange on the table was pure gold!

just for interests sake I'll take some pics of my actual trust kit as opposed to the trust "inspired" or trust "style' or even better "T Style" kits out there. i could have misplaced faith in japanese parts but my bet is the flanges are flat, the casting is smooth, the round bits are round not oval and there is no jagged bits of pipe or 'e-z-break' plastic.

i just realised maybe the non-flat flanges are designed to bolt to the chinese turbos which also come with non-flat flanges as factory finish.... so maybe it's not the chinese piping that's at fault. it's your stupid japanese turbo-chargers with their stupid flat flange face... and your stupid japanese car with non spaghetti moveable engine mounts to allow proper positioning.

Ah yes Beer Baron. You have seen the true origin of performane parts just like eastern martial arts is China.

Your faith isn't misplaced at all. Flanges are really easy to get flat from the cast. Hell I reckon some of the lead sinkers I've made put this casting process to shame.

The best way to modify this kit is with a furnace, donate the alloy blob to the alluminium can guys and then buy one of the trust bolt on kits.

The AFM necks to the air filters look way too short as well (they have warped flanges too). This would probably cause some signal issues for the AFM's.

Then again with those filters on thats going to be the least of your problems.

To those who have bolted the supplied filters on my big tip is don't take them off immediately because you will miss out on the super plastic octane booster. :O

Let us know if you lose a turbo or two in the future if you decide to keep them on though, or if you have had a failure since putting them on. It will only be due to the turbos not being qualtiy chinese of course but, it will bo good to keep score.

ok, well for the fun of it I'll pull a trust kit out of it's box over the next day or so and post some pics of the same parts you posted. though I know what the outcome will be as I had one on my last GTR and it worked bloody beautifully... damn those japanese and they quality parts. they keep me broke.

here are some pics of it fitted on my last car. the new owner reports they are a piece of cake to take on and off too as needed, and that's with the larger Z32 afms too.

yeah i'm pretty sure they do. i'll check when I take some pics. i think with this car though I'm going to try and adapt my apexi power intake filters to go with trust kit. i love the trust kit but can't fking stand the yellow filters and i really like the apexi filters (they are bellmouth on the inside too). hks make black replacement ones for their mushroom but no such luck with trust. if I can't get the apexi filters to fit i might at least swap to the blue or red trust filters to tone things down a bit. I might paint the chrome cage black too. I think that would look nice.

btw, looking at the pics again reminds me why I bought the kit again for this car. it's such a different look to the GTR engine bay. i love it. it's expensive, but good value if that makes sense.

The dodgy filters have blue foam. They cost about $19 from just jap so if the diameter was the same then you could throw away the rest of the filter and keep the foam.

Give me the diameter of the trust set and I'll check for you.
