Back in the day you your required a highflow to push over 200rwkw.

These days the dyno's push 200rwkw on stock turbo's so I believe its just the dyno's reading a little happy.

The dyno I run on typically 190rwkw is what a stock turbo'd r33 can achieve with the usual boost - 12psi, tune, exhaust & fmic. Throw an adj cam gear on and you can squeeze it a little over 200rwkw.

As R31Nismoid says the power figures 'these days' just don't add up with the MPH.

yeah mine was done by someone in melb and on 10psi and im making just shy of 185 (on a spazz tune that has huge flat spot) only wished Toshi would come to melb so mine can be fixed up!

I dont know about "safely" on the std turbs, some shit themselves at minimal boost my concern is how it drives, mines a shit bastard to drive afterwards as fark all light throttle and cruising adjustments are made, mine feels like I have lag as soon as the air gets cooler...although I like the extra 20 odd kw, I really dont think its worth the headache if your car is in standard form.

to answer your questions you cannot compare the "drive" of my setup now and before. before it felt like shit. rough, flat spots, not a very smooth band of power at all. now it feels much more refined but at the same time injecting more power with each gear. even at low rpm on low boost feels so much smoother.

so rb20's will just make 200rwkw with rb25 turbos but rb25's wont?!?

depends if your from WA or not i think mainly.

Generally you see RB20s make around 170-185rwkw on 14psi or so with the RB25 turbo (going by the results in the RB20 dyno thread)

i think he meant R32s with full RB25DET conversion. no way a RB20 with RB25 turbo can make 200kw.

If you want a remap. Sam AKA Dr Drift does them and is conveniently located in Melbourne ...

i don't think he does the R33 Remaps, he installs a daughter board on the R33 ecu making it live tuneable... and that costs over 1k plus tune costs..

or else id be happy to go to him for a remap..

thats what Toshi does

All figures aside as i believe that you can go to 3 different dyno's and get 3 different readings... how confident is anyone about how much power they are putting out... 1/4 mile times also is not all about power i think set up and driver ability come into it as well. ..... I am very happy with the way my car performs now after a remap from Toshi.... I am not going to modify my car any further and it did seem to have a flat spot in the mid range before ... after the ecu was changed over i noticed a big difference in the way the car pulls under heavy acceleration was much better than before and appears to do it through out rev range, car seems much quicker, smoother and power is more linear (i did up the boost a little as well)...

i just got 509kms out of 52.7 ltrs was mainly open road driving with occasional squirts thrown in as i was wanting to see how good my economy was as well (did change O2 sensor) but all in all DRIVABILITY , power and fuel economy is all good and im very happy for the money I spent. I dont have the fastest car on the road but it is quick and it runs well :-) was a good option for me........my 2 cents worth.....

its wierd how wa dynos make so much power, but then when you send over "eastern spec" mainline dynos over for autosalon we still make more power than you... maybe the air is just more oxygenated over here?!? haha

ooooooooooooooooo really

i agree with you. its easily not the fastest on the road but damn i feel it is definitely quick enough now. and quick enough to put a lot of cars to shame too. before i dunno i just didnt have the confidence that the car was running as well or was as quick as it should be. this remap was all it needed.

You theory is flawed.

By what you're saying, I should be making 220rwkw because I have an RB25 turbo on an RB30..

A turbo will make the same power on whatever motor it is on because it can only flow "so" much air. Smaller or larger capacity will just make the power later or sooner.

I also resent the WA reference, not all of us are dyno fiddling dodgy brothers :D

I second that.

I am running a RB20 with normal bolt on mods, GTR injectors, GTR fuel pump, R34 RB25 turbo and a Nistune Remap and I am making 195kw.

Next thing needs to be AFM.

nice curve impressive. i didnt think R32s with RB25 turbos could make so much power

Cheers, unfortunately I don't know what the before and after was for the JUST the remap, as I installed the turbo and injectors, towed it to the shop and got it tuned.

So i noticed a huge difference, but it wasn't all from the tune obviously

    • Strange your posting about this being an issue. Move the harness or change your wheels or run more camber etc. Have the thing not touch the thing so it doesn't destroy the thing.  Short answer, no. Slightly longer answer, the factory fuel gauge is measuring resistance. You need to wire in the FPG fuel level sender into the original factory fuel level sender wiring.  I drew you a picture to explain this one The factory strainer is quite long, reaching down into the bottom of the tank. Safe bet your aftermarket fuel pump has a little baby sized strainer that probably doesn't even point down towards the bottom of the thank.  Solution, move the pump lower down in the tank, or fit a longer strainer, or do both. I did both, I've run my tank down to 5L remaining and the car still drove fine.
    • S2/3 GT-R is the same as S2 GTS-t The SRS airbags module in under the centre console. The S1/S1.5 GTS-t and S1 GT-R had the module built into the steering wheel. FWIW, I have a S3 GT-R wheel in my S2 GTS-t shit box. Same airbag plug, airbag light goes on then off, meaning all systems are go. S3 GT-R has red stitching, that's about it.
    • Dumb question, but why would it matter if the wheel came off a car with hicas or not?
    • Hey to anyone that reads this, long time lurker first time posting, sorry if it’s been answered before but I’ve been looking for nearly a year now for answers. ive got a 25det neo in an r32 that works awesome when it works (made 500whp on 21psi) but works 45% of the time, 1st issue there’s a harness that runs under the passengers side front fender that my tire keeps rubbing through and one wire seems to power the fuel pump even though I’ve done the relay “mod” some people like to call it, and when it does rub through it kills the car, yes next time I’m with the car I want to take the fender off and try tuck the harness well out of the way but I’d also like to try and by pass this mysterious wire as well lol, also wouldn’t mind getting power from the alternator as I’ve read it supplies the pump with 13v ? But no idea where to run the power wire too. 2nd issue, when replacing my fuel pump and fuel hanger I managed to break the factory fuel level sender leaving me with no fuel gauge, I’d like to buy the fpg fuel level sender for r32/s13 but the plug it comes with confuses me, I’ve got a detschwerks x1 fuel hanger which has light + pump - level + pump + and a ground, I’m no auto sparky but I’m wondering if I can cut the plug off the fuel level sender and wire the negative to the pump negative and wire the positive to the level positive to get a fuel gauge back ?🥴 3rd and final issue, the reason I want a fuel gauge is because whenever it’s below half a tank, it fuel starves like crazy and runs like a bag of shit even without doing a pull or sloshing the fuel round in the tank, I’d also like to fix this but have no idea what’s causing it, I’ve got a dw420 and a dead head fuel setup meaning the fuel is regulated before it gets to the engine, my only theory is that the return line is to close to the pickup on the pump and when it’s at half a tank the return line is causing the pump to cavitate enough to cause fuel pressure issues, that or the pump isn’t low enough in the tank which I would find strange considering I can’t find a single thing online about it, also if ya wondering how I figured out it happens at half a tank without a fuel gauge, I waited until it started happening and went and filled up and the car took exactly 30 litres every time I tested it, if ya managed to read through this mess I appreciate that and any recommendations , cheers
    • ChatGPT is trash and lies about things I would not expect it to lie about considering many things it's wrong about are very easily verified with google. The S3 R33 GTR shares its steering wheel with R33 GTSTs of the same production year. Part number is 48430-26U17. I'm guessing you have to get it from a car that came with HICAS though, the ER33 is 48430-26U18, but the HR33 diagrams note that part number is still leather vs 48430-26U13 which is not leather-wrapped. They all use the same airbags, so if you need another one you can get it off basically any same year R33 or Stagea.
