Hi,

Just doing some research about stroking a VQ30 with a VQ35 crank. Does any one know if this is possible?

I found these specs on the net, i don’t know how correct they are, anyone that could verify these would be good.

VQ30DET

Bore × stroke

93.00mm × 73.30mm

VQ35DE

Bore 95.5mm

Stroke 81.4mm

Cheers,

Ryan

I'm not sure how compatable a VQ crankshaft would be with a VG30 bottom end .

However I did read about a Pathfinder in America (was an article in the now gone NPM - Nissan Performance Magazine E zine) about someone who put a VG33 ? crank in a VG30 block .

I seem to remember them using the VG ? 33 heads as well but not why they did it .

Search VG33 specs , cheers A .

Thanks disco, But i think the VG30 has a much different different bore stroke comb. Jun make a VG33 stroker kit but none for the VQ. I think the VQ30DETT is used in the GT300 series but there is still stuff all parts available for it?

I don't remember the numbers for the stroke of a VG33 , from memory I think VG30's are 87 bore and 83 stroke - what RB30's should have been .

What are you setting out to achieve ? Nissan obviously thought that the VG30 four cam engines were less than perfect and I guess they are bulky and heavy . Maybe just using a VQ35 is a better idea .

Cheers A .

Have you seen the price of a used VQ35, I have and it is huge for a N/A engine. I already have 2 VQ30DET's at my disposal.

If any one has a VQ35 crank they want to donate in the name of science i will happily trial assemble it and see. Then i will return it (maybe lol).

Cheers.
