Guys,

I am going to be in Japan from the 29th of November to the 3rd of December. The stop is all part of my round the world journey which I elected when looking at the options for US (the main purpose of my trip is a cousins wedding in Chicago). My problem is that previous plans have now changed and unfortunately I effectively have 10 days to arrange accommodation and entertainment. So my questions: Is anyone going to be in Japan at this time? Is anyone willing to meet and head to the Nismo Festival together (I would love to go - and considering I am there at this time it would be silly if I did'nt)? If not, has anybody got any advice for someone who has no idea how to speak Japanese and has not visited the country before - besides 'good luck' obviously! I would really like to stay there the allocated time but I am not someone who is able to integrate well in different environments, especially when alone.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Mike

Mike, you must go to Nismo Fest! Its not hard to get there on your own. Catch a highway bus from Shinjuku to Gottenba station. Then walk through the station and line up for the bus to Fuji Speedway. I may be able to find the instructions my wife wrote for me on my first trip there, and copy them to pdf. Alternatively you can catch the train, which I have also done. I cannot remember the stations though.

Well that sounds fairly easy "/

Well I will be in Chuo-ku,Tokyo at some Ninja Hostel joint (a friend hooked me up). So I was planning to go to Fuji Sunday morning early via train (approx 2hrs???).... but yeah, those instructions would be awesome :D
