guys I've checked and theres just too much info on s1 and s2 the problem is that everyone talks about everything and not one thing.

bare with me please.

i just got a new gts-t s2 first thing i noticed is there is no speed limiter, the other things are like different AFM and plug TPS sensor

igniter pack is not there was told its built in the ecu. coils are different. and so on

i also have a s1 can the powerfc from a s1 work in a s2.??????????????

witch car is the faster car a s1 or a s2.??????

i have 3000 dollars to send on the s2 what would be your recommendations be on upgrades?????

PFC works on both. The igniter is on the coil, hence different coil pack #'s

Power/speed/faster - no difference. same shit

Speed limiter should be there if the wires are connected. Might be other slight sensor differences but overall it means nothing really.

thanks R31Nismoid

My friend has a s2 as well, I've seen him take the car to 240kms with no speed cut, it has a 300km nismo cluster.

I was just wondering if all s2 without the igniter pack would have this advantage.

another thing i notice about the two is the both me and my friends s2 spit fire out the tail pipe whenever we shift gears the s1 don't do this as often . this is comparing about 5 s1 to 5 s2 and all the s2's spit fire out the tail pipe and all the s2 loose at the drag strip to the s1's i really find this odd. they win about 2 out of 10 races, all the car are all about the same.

I would like to know if anyone ever compared injection and ignition maps from the s1 and s2 to see if there the same.???

or even check to see if both s1 and s2 AFM can flow more air than the other. (one has 4 wires and the other 3)

there has to be a reason why there so prone to spitting fire even on normal driving.

but i do believe in what your saying both are the same power/speed other than the speed limiter.

i have tested the limiter my self first hand, thats why i say the s2's have no speed limiter. Can anyone else conform this.???????????

I was just wondering if all s2 without the igniter pack would have this advantage. the speed limiter has nothing to do with the ignitor. your mate (and yours) have probably had their limiters disabled

again, your limiter has been removed. im sure i can find you a s2 with limiter intact

the bold bits. hope it helps. if im wrong, im sure ash or someone will b back soon to set us straight

dude for all intents and purposes S1 RB25 and S2 RB25 offer identical performance.

Any loss or gain either way is attributed to one of the following

the car (each one is different)

the driver (each one is different)

the tune (each one is different, as each motor is different even within nissan spec of build)

Your basically reading into things and finding things/differences that simply are not there because of variables like drivers, tunes and different motors & their age.

thanks again mate.

OK I'm convinced that the s2's comes with a speed limiter and me and my friend are lucky to have gotten our cars with it removed.

in saying so, how can they remove the limiter from the ecu when I've red on this site that to do any kind of mod to the r33 ecu it would require using the r32 ecu and then chipping it or intalling a flash board and then using the nisstune soft ware to re-tune it. (after rewiring it to run on the r33) I have the nisstune software but still i need a r32 ecu and then, i would need to send it out to have a flash board installed then i would be able to tune it myself. Is there any truth to this.??????

can anyone explain how the limiter would be disabled.???????

what would you recommend nisstune or power fc ??????

what the best turbo upgrade for the money .????????

what aproach would you guy's take with a $3000 dollar limit (best power for the buck)???????

on my next post i will show pics of both cars.

thanks again SAU you've been very help full.

I rekon just grab a second hand Power FC. There are few floating around in the for sale section. They are getting pretty cheap without the hand controller

where????? every one is trying to get back more than what they originally paid for them..... i'm still searching for a decent one at a good price.....

intesting stuff guy's, cutting wire 53 hicas diagnostic / speed limiter wouldn't put the hicas light on.???????????

can any say what colors the wire is.

so what upgrade would you recommend first ecu turbo etc.????????

sure have R31Nismoid thanks. on my s1 r33 i got the power fc first, then hks turbo kit

I just thought you guy's may know of a better root to the upgrades. after all on the s1 i never consulted with any one.

my guess would be tuning it first, at about 12.5 psi with stock turbo.

this is what i have in mined

nistune for tuning

upgrade to z32 AFM

fuel pump and regulator

electronic boost controller

FMIC

blitz bov.

use my LM2 wide band

datalog and then retune the ecu for 12.5 psi

hopefully this will beat the stockish s1's on the drag strip.

Thanks again R31Nismoid and the hole SAU crew, when ever i slip you put me right.

i dont understand what the complexity is about?

there is little to no difference for s1 and s2 r33 that will mean any difference in terms of power output, 1/4, wheelies etc

you seem to place lots of emphasis on moot points and things that serve no useful purpose

powerfcs are worth $ because they hold their value and are worth it

i'd rather series 2 because i got one lol, the front lights look better, power wise there might be a little increase in series 2 only because they are a younger car and should generally have been driven a little less..... but on an individual side of things there are series 2's in terrible condition and there are series ones and 1.5's in great nick...... just search around if your looking at one, take them for a drive and at the very least take them on a dyno shoot out..... best bet is to buy an unmodded car unless you want to replace the turbo anyway,,,,, and make sure the engine is decent, if you got the money get compression testing...... if not its just a big gamble.....

ive had mine for a full year and touch wood ive had no probs....

    • Hi soviet_merlin, We appreciate your concern regarding this possibly being some sort of PR/Political hype, I assure you that is not the case, I wish we could claim something like that, but in this case, we merely reached out for comment on the basis of the outrage we too felt, as those heavily in the automotive industry. Ps. the original source in the social media post is CarExpert not CarExplore.    Best, CE.
    • Made a bit of a discovery, but while I was cruising, I randomly decided to test to see if it worked and it showed up on my IC7. The entire time I tested it before, I never thought to turn the ignition on. I only tested it with head lights turned on but with the ignition off. Huge oversight on my end. I’m a dummy. I know.
    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much
