Just go pick it up..

$80 or so to fly over, $180 for a business class seat..

And its easy to re-register.. just a normal pits.. check the engine mounts, tyres, lights, wipers/washers, seatbelts.. just the usual..

Don't forget to factor in the Spirit of Tasmania costs if you choose to pick it up yourself. It's subsidised now, and only costs $65 to take a car one way, but it's between $130-200 for a passenger fare and up to $400 I reckon for a cabin (been a few months since I did it). Cheaper to book your car in and hide in the boot

haha cheers guys, I fly for pretty much nothing as my old man works with qantas. So just spirit costs etc. I think I'll buy a sat-nav to show me the way to the spirit too! :(

Last time I picked up a car (I have done this twice now) it cost $80 for the flight that morning, $65 to take car on spirit, and like $90 odd for a shared 4 birth cabin. Cant remember the exact price for the shared cabin but it wasnt much.

Now, sharing with 4 randoms might freak some people out, but its better than sharing with 40 randoms in the seated overnight area, as you get an actual bed and shower, and doesnt cost much more.

This is by far the cheapest option, and comfortable too, hence why I did it twice!!!
