Yes, Well......

Post #2 on that article mirrors my thoughts about the dodgy compound's security system and the dodgy security personnel running it!

Even though my mods can't compare with his, my eccentric and radical security measures seem well justified.

I thought this particular international job was worth reading..

http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/107732-my-skyline-gtr-stolen.html

yea it soounds like an in-side-job from where the guy lived, the complex he lived in the boom gates let whoever it was, out. the cctv cameras apparently didnt work at the time etc

Damn.. it's either at Singapore, Thailand, or Indonesia by now.

Similar thing happened to my wife's uncle in Malaysia... Lexux Harrier 4WD, stolen by indonesians.... it had some really important documents in the car. He found it out it was at the wharf on the border, apparently the General of the army was responsible for ordering the car to be stolen.. he was real cocky about it too.. my wife's uncle said, well if you're not gonna give me the car back, then at least give me the documents... the General said to him, "sure just come on down, and i'll let you eat a bullet".. fking hardcore shit right there. In the end, my wife's uncle paid him something like $1500 bucks for the documents.. so not only did he lose his car, he had to pay the general money!! fking ridiculous.

I thought the odd part was that the GSM thing went off (so they didn't know it was there) -

but went dead..

That sort of things only happens in undeveloped thrid world countries i would like to see that sort of activity happening here !

Third world? It's malaysia.. not afghanistan. Crime rates are probably just as bad here as they are there.

KL certainly looks sophisticated in parts.

But there is plenty of corruption going on, and where the police are compromised the criminal

activity is surely higher.

If a foreigner gets stopped for speeding he usually has the option of paying a "cash on the spot fine" (wink wink)

and the customs officers at the borders are on the take as well. I went over the causeway and was asked

to drop a "cash fine" (wink wink) onto the floor of my trunk, because I was bringing an undeclared

"electrical good" (a $15 12v fan in a box).

If sing $50 gets you a free pass with the highway patrol then i bet $1000 gets you anything you want,

any time you want it..

So your saying the general of the army asked for the car to get stolen?

He is saying the general of the army asked for his uncles lexus to be stolen and thats that. you yourself can assume a general ordered the hit on this gtr but I dont think its appropriate to link it to howies comment imho.

Corruption is ramapnt in asia, its who you know and how much money you have. Having a good connection in the military is pretty elite, my friends uncle is some sort of general in laos and when hes over for holidays he can pretty much do whatever really, he's smart enough not to abuse it though.

What mr fanny said.. wife's uncle car was targetted by indonesian car theft gangs ordered by a general in the indo army then taken across the border from malaysia to indonesia.

Once it's across the border you have stuff all chance of ever getting you car back. They usually take it to another country and rebirth it there. Normally though they target big four wheel drives rather than sports cars.
