Brisbane Airport Rules

Just wondering what road rules apply at the airport? I've heard heaps of things like normal cops can't set speed cameras on the main road to the Airport. They can only get you for parking on the side of the road?

Is this why so many people go down there all the time?

its private property, but myself and someone else decided to go for a drive in there and a cop found us, said if he saw us in there again he WOULD defect me and he would be waiting for us at the first public road

i beleive that the federal police have some kind of control over airport property. back in the day when the airport was the 'place to be' we had run ins with them.

trust me, the 'feds' are not to be messed with. think of someone having 2 times as much power as a regular cop but without the smug, i'm better than you attitude.

Does that mean you can do whatever you want, speed drag at the airport? I'm still not sure why the police can only book you if you park on federal land and not for speeding if you were speeding.

ermm im pretty sure they can book ur for speeding still

they can book u there and if u have a bad run in with the feds they can confiscate ur car , it their digression to do so, as ur on crown land.

Why do so many cars pull over on the road to the airport? It's strange...

they are waiting to pick somebody up from an incoming flight so they dont have to pay parking inside the airport

Um i have copped 2 speeding tickets at the airport, so i would say dont speed there unless there not looking.

From what I understand, Cops can be invited onto private roads by the owners to do such things as setting up speed cameras etc. So don't take the airport as being 'free game'. You may end up getting stung

I work out at the airport and regularly see the police on Airport Drive. They've been booking quite a few people lately in the 60 zone where they are doing roadworks. Also I've seen them in between the International and Domestic Terminal roundabouts catching people as they approach the Control Tower complex where the speed limit goes from 60k down to 80k.

Oops, yeah sorry about that , what I meant to say was they hide on the centre island where the speed limit goes from 80 down to 60.

Yeah I would love to go cruising with the R31 guys. I've been keeping an eye out on R31SkylineClub.com, but nearly every time theres been something on in Brissy I've been working or organised something else. Would like to check out the next track day at willowbank.
