Hey guys,

I've been really wanting to de-bagde my 34 for a while now. Just wanting to know if anyone has done this, and the best way of doing it?

Also just want to confirm both the nissan and the skyline badges are put on with double sided tape on all 34 gt-t's? No actual lettering has any holes behind them?

What would you do ??? Answer the poll :P

Cheers!!

Dunno about sedans, but coupe the Nissan and skyline badges are taped.

My old R34 had only the Nissan Badge at the back when I bought it, looked ok but always thought something was missing so I bought the nissan badging and looked much better.

But I must say, a debadged sedan looks very clean indeed

search the forum, most guys on here melt the glue by using a heat gun or hairdryer, and some fishing wire to pry the badge off. Then some cut and polish to remove any evidence of the badging

Previous owner didnt fully debadge the car..

But he just removed the 25GT badge on the back and replaced it with a NISMO one.

Looks clean ..

Was thinking of shaving the boot lid and doors, and removing the badges aswell.

Lemme' know how it goes.

Hey man, i've just done the same thing with my R34. Yes it is just stuck on. No hidden holes to worry about.

Here's a picture.

I'm still contemplating removing the Nissan badge but meh, i'll decide that later.

  • 7 months later...

I want to remove my 25gt badge, but I was getting told that 'oh you know the paint will be faded or there will be a imprint' which kind of scared me. But looking at these cars it looks really clean, can you do it without a hair dryer and remove whatever is left with wax and grease remove?

ye mine had a nissan imprint from beneath it, just needed a good clean and it was all good.

use a heat gun, or a hairdryer to heat the spot up.

then get some hot water and pour it on the spot.(if you cant use a hairdryer, make sure you do this instead)

use some fishing line to work the glue.

a bit of bug and tar remover to remove the excess and its done.

    • Thanks for that.... If only I could do something once and be happy with that, like some people do....
    • I had no transmission at all so I managed to find a big box manual gearbox from an R34 GTT for an insanely good price in EU. I converted it to push type which cost more than the transmission almost, with parts from Amayama! These engines are very strong and can put out decent power with a properly sized turbo. You can save on money from parts like pistons and rods, and invest those in the transmission and other parts. I suggest you join the RB20 Enthusiasts facebook group, plenty of info and almost daily posts there about 20DE/DET/Neo+T builds. (I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by mentioning third party platforms, just trying to help the buddy out)
    • Yeah, having tried all of those methods including BBQ+recipro/hacksaw, I ended up buying a bush press kit under $150 that works well, like this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/355967727167?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=sfmmuhxgqhm&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=dJvnaZ11TB-&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY It basically has a range of pushers and cups with threaded rods between to press out a range of large bushes. The problem with any sawing solution is minimising damage to the subframe side, although it probably needs a quick sand afterwards no matter what solution you try due to damage
    • Hi. Thanks for the answer. I do not have instagram 😄 I too considering turbo the RB20DE NEO 🙂 But i think i upgrade the gearbox first or at least buy new.
