im getting over those southern cross stickers. there everywhere - all the cool kids are doing it. and those frangipani flower stickers. urgh.

i recon if you asked some of these yobbos what the stars are they'll just say its "Australia mate", they don't know its a constalation and i doubt they know that there are a few other flags in the southern hemisphere that have the southern cross in it, some of the pacific islands have it and everyone knows new zealand has it, so no its not distiguishable as Aussie, put the coat of arms on your car to show your pride or something, atleast nobody will laugh and say "hey, are you kiwi?"

dont get me started about the frangipanni stickers.....

Both the stickers are on every car in the Sutho shire when the car is driven by someone under 25.... atleast my gf has the brains not to put stupid flower on her car

Just some info on the bar from the photo of you car, if you have not all ready go back to the accident place and find the missing part of that front bar, you can get it plastic welded, the front bar cost around $2500 from japan as it looks like a TRD front bar.

yeah i noticed. thats one of the things on the bright side and it is a genuine trd front bar. i got the genuine hole kit

Not only was he a VL driver.... but a HOLDEN one at that. Holden people are never happy drivers, but I guess if I drove a Holden I would be as angry.

Being that done that, my 1st car was my mum's VN, I was always angry when I'm behind the wheel of that thing seeing how it breaks down @ & requires me to restart the engine @ about every intersection when there are cars up my a*se beeping.

The frustration!!!

To the OP, the VL is at fault the fact that he did an hit & run already proves 50% of that

dumb vl driver...?

do you know of a smart one...?

lol

hope the cops nail him.

Um probly gunna get sum hate mail after this but im a vl driver and have been since 17 and never had an acco or gotton fines and my calais has never broken down,

Also this is just my opion but the vl is the best car holden made cause its got a jap engine yea rb30 am i right?

oh and i was smart enough to get my bro to by his r33 and join this forum for expert advice (bit of sucking up there) lol

I will give you a tip that I have learnt from experience. I always get insurance before I even pick any new car up. even just get a quote for insurance.you ring, get quote, they send it out. this is valid for 30 days. basically a cover note. so if you got a quote, got smashed into an hour later, my understanding is you are covered.

without insurance you're fked. you can send him a letter of demand along with your repair quotes and your incident report number but he may just scrunch it up and put it in the bin. so then you have to go to small claims court (more time and money out of your own pocket) at court he may lie through his teeth, and given the damage is to the rear of his car, and the front of yours he may claim it's your fault and you may end up being directed to pay him. now lets say he does tell the truth and you do win and get awarded the money to fix your car (lets say $2000), the court will direct him to pay. he may still choose to be a fkwit and ignore the courts direction and still not pay. they certainly wont force him. so then you will have to keep chasing him for the money. (more time, stress, money).

my advice is get the repair quotes. send the letter of demand. if he refuses to do the right thing then just let it go and move on. get it fixed and put it out of your mind. taking him to small claims court will cost time, stress and money and is no way a guarantee of a result. the bottom line is, everyone should have comprehensive insurance. if you had that, you'd have no worries. :O

Agree with everything Beer Baron said, except I think it might at least be worth talking to your local court house about the options.

The fact he left the scene without stopping will go against him.

Thanks

Paul

Since no one was injured in the incident, don't put all your hopes on the police dude.

So he did a runner, what does that say about this dumb VL driver's morals?

If you know where the guy lives, then the best and fastest way to get the problem resolved

would be to get a few of your mates and go over to his home during dinner time for a chat.

Communication is the key to solving problems my friend.

That's how my uncle got his compensation from some shifty bastard anyway.

Edited by POLICE

leaving the scene of a accident carry's pretty hefty fines etc etc.

the cops should smash him, hopefully he be's a smart ass to the cops so they make sure he gets f**ked up

Yeah thats the best way to get your money back... :sarcasm:

there is a difference between a hiding and a friendly chat with the offender and 10 of your scariest looking mates.

lol

hahahahahahaha thankyou so much for saying that :ermm:

ive never understood why people like that claimed the southern cross as australia's own.

and its either commodores or those stupid mini trucks with them too :(

Sequential Process:-

A Hit and Run is against the law = leaving the scene of an accident etc

If someone does a hit & run on you and if you also have the perp's no. plate; even if you suffer a twinge...

1) it's best if you pull over to the side of the road (with safety)

2) get out and lie on the side of the road

3) someone will call an ambo

4) when an ambo gets called, the police have to attend

5) police have to follow up thoroughly any accident investigation

If however, you have alcohol in your system (through cough medicines, naturopathic meds, ETC, ETC) and the accident may not have been your fault, you will get charged as well. Best to remember that.

Tez

well considering he probably didn't go to the police station after the accident and tried to put the blame on you then its not like he can exactly say that you hit him but he didnt do anything about it. I believe you have a stronger case.

Also driving without insurance is fkn stupid. Like others have said you get 2 weeks free insurance before you have to pay. Now its just gonna be more of a fk around for you.

Last week my mates dad was drivin home after he bought a car and smashed it. He had no insurance what-so-ever so he has to pay for the lot out of his own pocket

ROFLZ yeah i agree with this and im usually one of the scary looking mates.... in fact i was the scary looking mate when some duchebag took my mates 11 sec 180sx for a drive and smashed it into a shipping container after planting his foot around a corner in the wet *slaps forehead* dumbass...... it was funny cuz he was acting like such a hard ass and when i turned up and got out of the car ready to kill someone he turned into a little bitch hahahahaha

any news on the VL driver mate ?

not really..

well my friend told his friend (a police officer) to help out but his friend (police guy) said it may take some time because the guy isnt from around my area so its harder. The cops have to go to the other station and talk to them or something? i cant remember i was for work sleepin when he called.

im buying parts already. got my smoked corner winkers and i have some dmax 15mm fenders comming but its really taking its time. sick of seeing my car look like shit because of some vl idiot...

    • Hello everyone. I've recently started the research into R34 GTR front bits and running into eye watering prices. On the plus site it looks like some places make 'replacement' fender liners for these cars. At eye-watering-but-less than stock prices. I also noticed there's plenty of diffuser options available too. What I would like to know is if my following assumptions are correct. 1) The OEM guard liners are actually only 'half' the liner. They go together with the OEM brake vents which are a separate item which looks to be quite a large 'panel' that is part of the liner. The GTR bumper has bolt holes along the front. I assume the ones in the vent correspond to the ones the OEM liner does not have (circled?)   2) The V-Spec front diffuser supplants the brake ducts in the above item. I am assuming these still work with the guard liners as there's no alternate part. I don't see how they go together, so I'm making the assumption that they do. I know the center splash guard is different on the V-Spec How does the liner interact with that? 3) There's alternate front diffusers that do away with it all. Annoyingly, a lot of the clones and CF different ones... have no brake ducts on them. I like the idea of them though. My brakes get hot on the track. These alternate diffusers are a lot cheaper than plastic splash guards. I'm assuming you don't have to/aren't supposed to remove guard liners to run a diffuser. I suspect that quite a few people actually do not run the guard liner because with a front undertray you're getting a lot of 'splash' guarding anyway, and most people remove liners given they're probably running a pretty aggressive setup with a diffuser at the front. It would also be nice to know if anyone has ever run the 'reproduction' guard liners and know whether the fitment is OEM quality or "OEM Quality". Example: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/356254671561 https://carbonetics.net/products/nissan-skyline-r34-gtr-plastic-front-wheel-arch-set Is this knowledge still around?
    • Really, effort is pretty low. You hand fistfuls of cash over to someone else and pick it up when done...   And at least this shitbox isn't drinking coolant right?
    • And most chargers that most DIY people own would put bugger all power back into the battery between cylinders. I've always done it with jumper packs/second battery connected. And that's on any car.   Because race car, and wanting the lightness.  At least in an R33, putting a bigger battery in can at least help shift the weight balance backwards
    • OR, Tell the Motec to STFU, you said shift, so try shifting! But then yes, I agree, more sensors needed to. Put either a wheel speed sensor, or a diff speed sensor on it. Then get an input shaft speed sensor too. (I say input shaft speed, and not engine RPM). This way, you can now also log and see if the clutch is slipping (RPM, vs input shaft speed), and you can calculate gear (Input shaft speed / Output shaft speed). At least then if the gear position sensor fails you have a backup. And realistically, the Motec should only worry about what gear you're in for the parts where I'm assuming you have some power management strategies in it for the lower gears. (IE, lower boost, maybe different throttle curves, different ignition curves, etc etc). But it should stop it shifting. Pull the flappy, that f**ker should just attempt the motion! Heck, even on a sequential like on a motorbike, you can keep trying to kick it up a gear all you want, the physically part of the box takes care of not being able to loop the whole way around the box! Only part you'd have to worry is how it gets to reverse.  But that's on the driver... An R32 shouldn't be so smart as to try and override the driver on a gear shift
    • Yeah, nah. Anyone not putting the absolutely largest battery that will physically fit (ie, NS70 X) is not thinking straight. the NS70 X is close on double the capacity of the "stock" unit.
