"Skylines are a supurb car to drive for performance and handling, however there are quicker cars that go in a straight line, but they are one of the toughest competitors around a track."

Not saying obveously you can make them go faster in a straight line, but it takes mods and money to do so... stuff that at the moment I imagine arent flying at you(im a p plater too)...

+1

straightline performance could be had with a RB30 conversion and a bit of head work and internals. fuel systems etc, but yeah. 2.5L isnt really the best size for getting much torque out of.

il admit, a friends EB falcon beat me in a drag, mind you it had a bit of work done to it (cams, MPFI converted) but 4.0L really does own 2.5L for torque and shear power, its just physics. however the other part of that story is that round the twisty roads, she couldnt keep up :P. so skylines really do have great weight distribution compared to the urban boats that are the commondores and falcoons.

mate, if you read the thread and didn't understand it then i suggest you go searching around google and build your knowledge on cars and the terminology.

most of the stuff here has been repeated and is fairly basic. it sounds like you are lacking the fundamentals so try sites like "how stuff works" etc.

if you want straight line speed you shoul of bought a supra.

Its quite hard to extract decent power out of ye old 25DE.

But if you are hell bent on it. Go through the list I gave you. Its the cheapest and easiest way of getting a little more power out of the engine.

An Apexi SAFC is simply an air fuel ratio computer which you can tune and adjust air and fuel ratios. They can be had for $200 odd. And installed and tuned for a similar price.

So in total your looking at:

$600 cams (new)

$300 cam gears (new)

$200 SAFC (second hand)

$400 Lightened flywheel (new)

You already have an exhaust - is it a full exhaust.

CAI

Thats a rough price guide. You will have to include labour (if you cant do the work yourself)

Im simply answering your question.

Great thanks, and yeah i have a full exhaust. Apparently just having a full exhaust is illegal for me yet i've been pulled up by the cops and they haven't said anything about it (and they did look at the engine etc). I think cops mainly only look for turbo's in P plated car and don't care too much about any other parts.

Your lucky.. some people have been bent over and rammed like no tomorow by the popo ..
