hey all,

picture this, friday arvo, nice and warm... just leave work, give it a little punch coming onto the highway to celebrate the weekend... and next minute, the temp gauge is sky rocketing and unfortunatly traffic is banked up for miles...

one of my heater hoses had split at the back of the engine, i pulled over, let her cool down and moved her up the road to a more secure spot to check the water etc. limped her home when it was a bit cooler, constantly checking water levels and everything was normal, still coolant in the system, no massive air bubbles and it ran fine so it should be all good.

just wondering if anyone knows of a silicone hose kit for the rb20?? or would an rb26 replace most of the hoses??

i want to replace all the coolant lines as they are all the same age and i dont want the same thing to happen next friday arvo... or on the track.

price isnt a concern, id rather choose to spend a few hundred on a good hose kit, then have to spend a few hundred doing the head gasket.

cheers

Linton

You can get them from nissan but will probably cost you $200 or so for the set.

Otherwise you'll have to go to a hose supplier and buy some general purpose hoses that are suitable. Can be a problem to get the bends correct however.

Just got a quote and it's around that. :( A nice silicon replacement would be nice.
