First and foremost i just want to express respect for you guys on this forum, if i didnt find this site i would be lost when it comes to working on my car.

Second. I know i could find all the necessary info by searches but i would like to debate some options and decide what is better, so please dont turn this into "DO a search thread"

I guess i should tell you guys a little about me, I live in Japan currently and i have a 1999 R34 GTR Vspec. I absolutely love my car and at this point i have a decent amount of upgrades. I have an Upgraded HKS Intercooler, HKS Oil cooler, Aragosta Suspension, Upgraded Ignition, AP racing 6 piston brakes, Kakimoto Exhaust, Upgraded Intake and filters and thats about it. I am looking for the 500WHP range and would like to get some opinions on how to do that as reliable as possible. I only drive the car about 100-150KM a week. I have just ordered a HKS Dual Plate clutch(my stock one is slipping) the car has 64000 KM on it now.

I just bought a Head and cams that are used and supposedly the head has been port and polished but there are no flow numbers for it, so i need to get a reputable shop in australia to send the head to, to get the head flow tested. I know what your going to say, Why buy a head that you dont know, Well... I got a really, really good price, so in my opinion it is worth the risk.

I would do the work in Japan, but, its hard to get shops that speak english and as good as my Japanese is, its not nearly good enough to explain that i need detailed work done to my car.

Lastly, Yes my car will, and can be dynoed, so i will be putting a Power FC and taking it to a shop, I hope my sign language is good enough to explain DYNO, but ill figure something out because i dont think i can send it to australia for that one as easy as a head, so whatever you guys suggest i will have it tuned.

I think that is it, i really appreciate any help in advance, and i hope that this thread comes up with some great info. Thanks again guys, and a little off topic, but i want to plan a vaction in Sydney next year, any good places i should visit?

Thanks again,

Jason

Just to add some stuff for you guys, I live in Japan and so parts are alot cheaper, if you need something that you really cant find in australia or is really expensive, give me a PM and ill see what i can do.

i really want a sweet japanese girl who doesnt care that i am into jap cars... can you help?

Sure i can guilt toy, ill send over my Japanese books to you, now all you have to do is study almost non stop for a year, speak fluent Japanese, buy a plane ticket to Japan, and well and thats about it.... In the bigger cities here getting a hot Japanese Girl is about that easy, and the fact that your into Japanese cars like the Skyline actually help, so... When can i expect you?

Hey mate,

Nice car you have :).. In order to make that power and make it all day every day without having to worry about anything isnt that hard as long as you have the cash and by the looks of the car and the upgrades you have brought it shouldnt be hard.

Personally if it were me and you want 100% piece of mind id take it to a mechanic and have the internals changed to forged items. Upgrade the turbos GT-R's are probably one of the cars that have the most turbo options availible to it. Next is the Injectors, ECU, Fuel Pump and id get a oil cooler and filter relocator for wank value.

ECU for that power level a Apexi Power FC would be fine. Install a thicker head gasket.

500hp @ the wheels is a good figure and it will do you nicely. hell GT-R's go hard enough as they are.

skyryn3, thanks for the info, i think those are some great ideas. I was looking at buying a N1 block for about 1500US, i located it near Tokyo so shipping would not be too expensive. I found JE Pistons and Eagle rods for about 1200US. Do you think the Stock Crank for the RB26 could handle 500WHP every day without worrying too much? Also, i like doing my own work, i want to build the car myself(for pride reasons) If i have the pistons and rods balanced, do you think i would have any problems putting the internals together myself, is it that difficult??? If it is, i suppose i would just have them put the internals and the head on and i would do the rest.

2BNVS, Yes i do, but most of them are girls and wouldnt be able to translate very well considering they dont know what a turbo is, i know isnt that crazy? I found some 2530 turbos for 500 bucks, BUT and here is the huge but, the guy that had them on his car, drove the car like he stole it. So i dont know how beat up they are. Is there a shop in australia i can send them too to get rebuilt???

Thanks again guys, i can see my car getting faster very soon.

You can find an amazing amount of answers by using google like this:

"site:skylinesaustralia.com stock crank strength" or

"site:skylinesaustralia.com turbo rebuild shop" or

"site:skylinesaustralia.com rb26 rebuild thread"

(or site:gtr.co.uk)

I'm not being facetious. I don't know the answers to your questions but I know how I could

find them if I spent a few hours. In a day I could probably assemble a pretty comprehensive

plan for such a build, just from these types of searches.

There was another guy living over in Japan and posting on here, he seems to speak Japlish well enough to get HKS to built a motor/car for him.. might be an idea to have a search and track him down as he might be able to help you out and any money that you don't spend on shipping things to Australia and back, is more for bigger and/or better mods :)

    • Hey all, I'm Gaston from Sydney's West.  I was a member on here when I was a younger lad and owned a mint R33 GTS-T. Ended up selling it and getting married having kids (yadda yadda) we all know how the story goes. Now I'm back with the intention to get my midlife crisis (dream) car ... a R35 GTR.  You'll see me about asking questions and searching the forums. Good to be back and can't wait to get back an Import again.
    • I have to put something here in order to post the photos. From what I could gather there's more enthusiasm for modified cars now than there has been for years. There were probably more younger people there than older (me included lol) which was a good sign.  It did seem like the record least amount of representation of the 90's era hero cars on display though. Like maybe one or two examples of S-chassis Nissans, and maybe 3 or 4 R-chassis. By comparison there were a lot of Civics from that era but in all there were about 10 - 12 EG/EK Civic Type R.  Euro exotics are always there in large numbers, led by Liberty Walk...... say what you will about kids using markers to scribble on a Ferrari F40, it did seem like a stunt to infuriate Ferrari enthusiasts, or Ferrari itself. I wonder if there's something more to it. Either way LBWK have done some heinous things to a Lamborghini Miura this time. They should stop now.
    • Engines and drivelines are not war stoppers for me mate, busted arse bodies and un-obtainium parts and panels are though Both cheap Brumbies I looked at had trashed tubs and a fair bit of rust
    • Stock O2 sensors are narrowband. They're useless once you're away from stoich. IE, useless for what you're trying to do. 10:1 will read the same as 14:1 from the stock O2 sensors. That is, they'll read rich. The same level of rich.
