Gtr Catch

hey just got my gtr back, just noticed it dosent have an oil catch can? its about 300AWKW etc etc, just did a search and looks like it should have one. i dont want the whole 'bling' effect, so any recomendations what is a good option

mines gonna make nearly twice as much... i havent got a catch can either...

its makin about as much as urs now on the run in.. so i dunno.. i guess u dont really need it??

My GTR is outputting about 266KW and my advice is to find one that you like - don't try to run without it. I have a just jap unit that is like the giant alum coke can across the top of the valve cover.

The first time I took my car out to the track, I didn't have one. After about 5 minutes of full on track time where the boost is above 1 bar I started to see smoke coming from the engine bay. It was the blow by from my breather.

Above 1 Bar RB's will get oil spray mixed in with the breather so you really need the catch can if you are going to do any track work.

If you are just going to do 1/4's and street driving, maybe you don't need it so much.

my mechanic told me i had to get one, got about 287awk, running 20 psi, just for a street car, said the oil can make them ping when releesed back into the intake like standard.

There are benefits to running a catch can...oil vapour from blowby reduces the octane count of petrol and could lead to detonation...i dunno about you but i'd rather not risk that happening...
