Hey Guys. Just a quick Hi.

New to the Importing Scene so im sorry but il be hoping to get a lot of help from all of you:-)

Just Got a 2003 V35GT 6 speed manual.

Picked it up through Ben at J-spec. Thanks mate.

Currently awaiting shipping which is on the 13th/12/08 departure Japan.

I live in Perth and the car is going to Brissy for compliance and then will be trucked over here to Perth. Just had some issues with the paper work for shipping so had a bit of a delay. Plus that why it is going to Brissy.

I was intrested to try and get the car's Tv sorted out i kow there has been a lot of discussion about what can and cant be done so ill first have a read before i ask anymore questions. But i know everyone hounds one user here for his services with the Audio so i guess ill have to join in:-P lol.

Anyway i think i uploaded the pics correctly. Would like any help from anyone regarding Suspension.

As i am currently looking into some 20' rims and as well some Coilovers.

Thanks all. Let me know what you gusy think. Ill post more pics up shortly.

Cheers Deano

Congrats buddy, looks great.

And yes, have a read through the V35 section as pretty all your questions should be answered somewhere in there.

Chris Rogers is definitely the man when it comes to the audio and Nav. He's based in Brisbane so may be worth while to get him to work on the car while its in compliance and save yourself some time.

You've probably already found it but in case you haven't check in my sig for the V35 section.

Cheers

Bobby

Thanks Guys... The cost for trucking to Perth is not finalised as yet so ill let you know as soon as i have a amount. But if you have some info for me would be of great help:-)

Also there is loads of stuff for the V35 on this forum which is of great help so ill just keep reading thanks. Yeah thats his name Chris Rogers ill definately chase him up while the car is in Brissy to get him to help me out. Cheers

Thanks once again

These days it is $1,200 to $1,400 out of QLD for a good freight company but others do ship it with Kiwi at a total of $1,000 going on the last couple of cars but both have risk of damage.

Make sure the car is 100% plus when it is taken over the pats as due to a lot of ex East cars failing badly they are now as you would say "on a watch list".

Save yourself some cash.

Fly over to Bris, makes ure all is ok after complaince and ready to go. Jump in and drive straight down the side of Aus to Melb, then truck it to Perth. Much cheaper and you save about 5 days. Plus one hell of a way to get to know your new car.

Grab mate Day 1 Bris to Coffs Harbour. Take a nap, then Day 2 Coffs to Syd or even Canberra (P@rn is legal here). Then head down to Melb!!

transport from Bris to Perth is much less frequent than Melb to Perth

HAHAH i like all your ways of thinking:-) I would love to drive from Bir to Melb and get to know her a bit more:-) but just not feasible with my work can barely get holidays. I really hope everything goes ok with my car hey i couldnt bare to see any scratches on her:-(

But the plans for her as soon as she arrives is to put my 20" rims on before i go drivin:-) then drive her straing to the suspension shop to have the coilovers on then as low as she can go:-D....

Im hoping i can get Chris to have a play with her when she is over there in Brissy:-)

de-no,

if the car has been done by jspec then shogun will probably be the ones that do the car. if you can get the car to go to ISASO or Adrenaline motors then the whole process will be transparent as I'll pick it off as it goes through the system. if shogun do the car MAKE SURE they understand you want the car modded for AV and navi. this will happen AFTER compliance. if you want an alarm on it tell me.

do you have the chassis # of it (IE CPV35-000000) so I can add it to my list. ( I track cars by this as I often get 3-4 silver cars in a row and I get lost..)

    • Hi soviet_merlin, We appreciate your concern regarding this possibly being some sort of PR/Political hype, I assure you that is not the case, I wish we could claim something like that, but in this case, we merely reached out for comment on the basis of the outrage we too felt, as those heavily in the automotive industry. Ps. the original source in the social media post is CarExpert not CarExplore.    Best, CE.
    • Made a bit of a discovery, but while I was cruising, I randomly decided to test to see if it worked and it showed up on my IC7. The entire time I tested it before, I never thought to turn the ignition on. I only tested it with head lights turned on but with the ignition off. Huge oversight on my end. I’m a dummy. I know.
    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much
