Well still no luck with the dyno. Cant get a final power reading as pickup sensor on the dyno is f@#ked but hopefully thats repaired this week.

Other problem is were limited to max of 1.4bar as anymore boost and fuel pump cant supply enough fuel. Injectors are big enough, its fuel pump letting us down, so having a think wether to leave as is or go bigger fuel delivery setuo.

I'm not real keen for fuel surge tank etc as car is meant for street , plus I want to the car sent asap once the approval comes through.

Power estimates from what they can tell its around the 450kw mark and power comes on like a bomb !! Real early and real hard !! HKS guys are pretty impressed by the whole engine package, a mix of Aussie and Japanese parts and HKS's secret head tune... yeah yeah..everyone has their secret tune !

All I got to do now is get the thing to OZ and have some fun !!

i know what u mean about running a surge tank BUT it is good insurance

i originally had my bosch 044 in tank then decided to run a surge tank with 2 044's into a dual entry fuel rail...only takes a small fuel surge which can lead to total catastrophe

what fuel are u running in japan as i thought that they have a higher ron than aust?

will this also mean that once it lands here u need to touch up the tune?

While I was away some brand new Garrett -5's from Hi Octane in Oz.. big thanks to Kyle for his help getting these and other parts for me.

so did u stick with the -5's? if so, are they the standard configuration with .64 rear housing?

Sounds great Mark.

Where will you be based when you get here?

Somewhere on the Goldy as I have had a gutfull of cold winters and shitloads of snow. i want some sunshine and warmth, BBQ's and thongs !!

I'm running a custom in tank setup which we thought would cope but having a bit of a rethink at the moment.

Shit the power its making comfortably its still going to be a handfull !!

As for fuel, yep its a higher ron rating. Hi Oku its called but the guys have done a couple of fuel maps and most tunes done in Japan on the Fcon are for 98Octane.

Still going to always try run it with some octane boost.

My mates coming out to Oz later this year and will do a retune if neccessary.

Yep stayed with the -5's and pretty much standard, plus got heat coated.

Now just have to sort out a box to take some punishment..

These bastard cars are an endless money well...one that sucks everything you have !!

most importantly, don't forget about the 'bikini tonti' (i.e. Flange) which comes hand in hand with the sun :(

What box u thinking of running? Maybe an os giken gearset?

Ha Marko..

I'll miss the Japanese summer Flange/Candy big time...In Japan the beach in summer is one crazy place, a deviats dreamworld !! :D:banana:

I have a box being built by Auto gallery Yokohama and sourcing an OS gearset to have another box built and see which one is the best and sell the other.

Auto gallery now do a box with uprated input shaft which used to be the weak link in their boxes. The shift in these are silky smooth and quick !!

Yeah thats them.

Their workshop is a bit tricky to find, down off little side road in Yokohama area.

I was thinking of getting a few boxes made up this year and bring them to Oz if there was any interest.

The OS input shaft is a tougher setup for dragging but supposedly AGY's new setup is good for 800PS but more a street/circuit box.

They are like silk to shift !! They just slip into gear.

How does the pricing compare to os giken?

Has anyone here had experience with AGY?

Hi Marcus,

When do you expect to have the beast on the Gold Coast, look forward to seeing it...

Butch

Hey Butch

I finally got an email from Dotars last week and they wanted more documents to prove I had returned to Oz. Already had sent most before but sent what they asked for again.

Hopefully get the import approval very soon as car is sitting at HKS waiting to go. Fingers crossed it should be on the road late June, early July.

Car has been detuned a bit to just over 600ps with a scramble boost hit of 10seconds of extra 20ps.

With the current fuel and injector setup, running it at much higher power level , it was reaching max level so went the safer side of things for awhile.

Down the track a bit I'll possibly upgrade the fuel system and go for more power. Guys reckon it will crack 700ps easy but even in its current form they reckon the torque it has is pretty impressive.

All I want to do is drive the thing now.

I'm off back to Japan at the end of the month for a few weeks to buy some parts and organise sending a heap of other parts, engines, etc I still have sitting in storage. Also have a weekend racing with the HKS guys so looking forward to that.

sounds good!

what fuel are u going to run here, e85 or 98?

We tuned it knowing I'd be running 98 over here but will have to add some Octane boost.

my mate from HKS is coming out to Oz later this year so we do a bit of fine tuning and possibly just change the whole fuel setup and go for more power, depends on how long he is here for.

Honestly I have no clue about the E85 and its pro's and cons. Wanna fill me in.

Must let us know when this beast is coming out to play. I would love to have a look when it gets over here :(

Hopefully I'll here something from Dotars soon and it can be on its merry way.

I am absolutely hanging to drive the thing.

from what i know, e85 burns 30% faster hence u need a stronger fuel system to cope. i was thinking of running e85 which is why im running 3 fuel pumps with surge tank, dual entry rail & 1600cc injectors (with your power goal you'll need 1000cc injectors min)

i was advised by my tuner to expect an additional 50awkw & boost level can be increased from 23psi to 30psi without a problem :(
