I have had my order for the Whiteline shock and Spring kit for about a month at the start they told me that they where currently waiting on a order to come in and it should only take about a month, anyway rang them today to see how it was going and to see if they had heard anything about the order and they told me that Bilstein had cancelled the order to OZ because they felt that it wasn't a large enough order and supposably that's for all of Australia not just Whiteline. They said that they did get some in that size but it was only for the front or back the lady couldn't remember. But they where confused as to why they only got one end of the kit.:)

Supposably all of Australia that supplies Bilsteins have to order the shocks at the same time to make up the orders.

The estimated time of arrival now for the shocks is late October early November at the docks.

Has anyone heard this?

yep they can't suppy shocks had my kit on order for 5 weeks told so many stories about arrival. i know it can be hard dealing with overseas suppliers but with todays electronic devices you only need to use 1 to find out answers & for a company to not know when its supplier is sending gear or not sending gear for that matter is really sad.

i got to yes there in aus on docks but customs take there time, to sorry we can't get fronts. the kit is great prob reason so hard to get but informing customers of delays before ordering & supplying correct info about supply would help a great deal so your car doesn't sit on blocks for 5 weeks.

i'm lucky some secondhand shocks became aval & fitted king springs, then all other parts of whiteline kit they could supply.

For anyone interested I have found a supplier for Koni adjustables for $883.33 front and rear. They are suitable for the whiteline kit according to Whiteline. So i have combined the works package minus shocks with the konis and it should be good.

Good bunch, I ordered my shocks this morning and had them by lunchtime, no bullshit waiting around with people lieing to me and telling me stories about noone having shocks, quick and easy.

Hi there,

I don't like Whiteline very much. One Christmas my girlfriend bought me Whiteline strut braces (front and rear - yay me!) for my GTS. The front brace didn't fit (hit the intake plenum) - first I had to argue with them coz they said my girlfriend ordered the wrong part - then they said to come and talk to their engineer who, when I turned up wasn't there as he was on two weeks leave - after waiting the two weeks I went down to talk to the engineer who said 'yep they don't fit' - then they wanted me to wait like a month before they could make some - then they wanted to use my car as a test case but they wanted me to leave my car for five days and still pay (albeit at a discount).

Writing about them makes me mad - they are F%$D!

Further, I have Biltstiens and Kings spring on my R32 - I bought them new and probably paid too much. In retrospect there is no way I would have bought new parts with the high quality of used parts out there at a reasonable price, particularly when they are so easy to install.

I hope I have given you food for thought - I feel better now I have vented a little.

Thanks.

  • 3 weeks later...

Well well, funnily enough, today I'm way pissed, and I find this thread. :)

I ordered a Whiteline Works kit about 5-6 weeks ago through my local Pedders, (who are kindly letting me pay it off, ain't they nice?). Those poor bastards have had me ringing up once a week to see what's happening: they can't get info out of Whiteline beyond

"Unh... they're at the docks we think, waiting for customs."

"Er, they're at customs, but dunno how long they'll be."

"Customs sent some back, so we have to wait."

And the best one (was speaking to pedders, but he's just parroting the Whiteline guy, so imagine I'm speaking to WL.):

"Well, it seems that there never was a shipment, so you now have to wait."

"What? For how long?"

"Late november."

"Ya ****in' what??"

"Well, actually..."

"Yeah??"

"It'll be late December with two weeks for customs and two weeks for backorders."

"Screw you, hippy."

(Didn't say this last part, but wish I had.)

So... what do we do now? We can't get Bilstein's until December, and I'm wary of using Koni's, because I'm buying Whitelines because they did the research using Bilstein's, not Koni's. I'm paying for the researched and tuned pack, not a close approximation.

At the moment, I'm thinking about just getting their handling kit and getting some 2nd hand springs until I can buy something better.

Or Bilstein's arrive.

****ers.

Sciby believe me I could have killed someone at whiteline not because they couldn't supply but because they kept telling me bullshit so my car sat on blocks for 6 weeks. I never got the pack because I would still be waiting like you but funny enough it turned out better because my car is the way I like it so I'm happy.

I fitted bellow

whiteline kit without springs & shocks

king springs (listing GTR) lower car about 25mm

damper adjustable Nismo shocks

i find my ride is smoother than full whiteline setup (friend has it) & the only problem i have found is my tyres need upgrade.

Well, I rang Whiteline yesterday and had a chat to them. They basically had this to say:

- No, we will not fit ANY shocks apart from Bilstein's to the Whiteline Works pack.

- Yes, they technically will fit, but the springs were designed and set with the Bilstein shocks in mind, not Koni or KYB or anything else.

- They apologise for the delay. (ha!)

I feel sorry for the girl on the phone: she had the flu and had to deal with disgrunted suspension customers all day. She thanked me for not being angry. :)

Anyway, I rang back Pedders and told them all this. Going in for a free balance and alignment tomorrow (to reward my patience) and we're going to look at what Pedders' can offer, in conjunction with the Whiteline handling pack.

Will keep you guys up to date with what happens...

I gave up looking for Suspension, I even tried to get some Coilovers but no real luck there ever :) so I got the shits up and bought a Power FC :D All my wife could say was "thats not suspension" :uhh:

Crazy. I was told over 6 months ago that Bilstein weren't even making R33 shocks any more, courtesy of whiteline. i had to wait about 3 weeks from ordering to get mine (this was in Feb 2003), which wasn't too bad, and at that time was told i was lucky coz no more were going to be sent over after that shipment!! yet it appears they are still pumping them out...

and i have to say, that while the handling improved drmatically, i still can't quite get it sorted the way i like it... has this knack of sudden oversteer on fast corners which can be a weeeee bit unsettling :-/

    • I recently got their dbw 74mm throttle body and pedal kit. It is sensational quality especially the wiring harnesses. Unfortunately I can’t answer u about the fitment to stock inlet manifold as I’m going Rahjab Racing forward plenum. Only one thing to be careful of is understand u have to pay gst and import fees if your purchase is over $1,000 in one shipment.
    • yeah i agree paint match stops it from standing out so much, oh that's actually really good to know i was wondering if it would help with air flow now actually having an outlet in the bonnet. Will have to focus on ducting into and out of the radiator now to make the most of it.
    • I would paint match the whole thing to avoid unwanted attention  I had a similar bonnet, paint matched, on my old R33 GTST, but mine was a fibreglass jobbie made by Blitz in QLD, they work extremely well for radiator efficiency and under bonnet temps
    • Does anyone run this kit with factory plenum? Does the adapter and bosch tb fit under factory strut brace? I wanted to get this setup before going forward facing manifold. Thanks
    • small update time, after always wanting a "cool" looking bonnet for my car and always struggling to find one for the series 2 that i liked and wasn't an insane amount of money. Saw one i liked on RHDjapan from D-speed in Japan the price was very good for a carbon bonnet so good infact i was a little unsure how much i trusted it, decided to bite the bullet and with the help of jesse streeter in not long at all it was at my door. Once it was delivered i ran in from work and quickly unboxed it and to my surprise the quality was actually pretty good i quickly removed the old bonnet and placed on the new one to test it out and even the fitment wasnt too bad at all. Then decided to paint the little grille in the bonnet black to stop it sticking out so much.   I decided to not mess around with the hood latch and just install some aero catch hood pins, having never installed them before did some YouTube university classes and i was good to go. fair to say it is not a fun job at all from making brackets so the pins sit nicely and actually cutting through the bonnet but also being very scared of cutting the holes too big it took wayyyy longer than i would like to admit but finally got it there. Then it was time for a quick test drive to ensure the latches actually worked and thankfully the bonnet looked very stable. I still think paint matching the bonnet and leaving just the part that sticks up as carbon would help make it all look alot neater as im not sure how i feel about all that carbon on a very fridge white car but will leave it as is and see how i feel with time.
