FineLine
Only 600hp in a .63 rear for the GT35 i thought.Otherwise they are 700hp (.82) or 750 (1.06) IIRC. Rear end does have a bit of a day in overall proceedings... damn turbos spot on! I make 530 ish with the .82 housing and there aint much left. The 35/82 does spool very quickly compared to the To4z and bigger brothers. I see my first lb of boost at 1600 rpm, full noise by 37/3800 and it makes power all the way to 8500. my stable mate Strik3r has a similar engine setup with the T04z and whilst he makes more top end its a farken lag monster to drive. I wouldnt mind betting the 35R actually makes better "average" power than the To4z. FineLine
give me your graph and his and i will work it out for you! They're both hanging on the wall dow at the work shop Bunt. Next time you go down have a bo peep. Dont confuse what I am getting at here though. I should have qualified my version of "average" power. I am willing to bet London to a brick that I see far more useable power on any given circuit lap than G man does. Matter of fact I would bet my car on it. R31Nismoid
Oh now we are talking business It shows another thing as well, not everything is shown night/day on a dyno sheet when talking circuit applications. Plotted on graphs they might look very similar, however actually driving them on/off throttle is something else again Drag is a bit different when its just foot to the floor, change gears and hold on... Unless your Paul, then just get an Auto and hold on (had to drag him into this somehow lol) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/246293-gt35r-vs-garrett-t04z-discussion-just-post-in-this-thread-to-create-a-database/page/36/#findComment-5056532 Share on other sites

Angus Smart
Need an RB26 with a GT4088R to compare results with here I concur, however i still will have a few months to make my decision. but my car space needs to make way for a boat so its gotta happen soon i think a few uk boys have done it might have a peek over there. also waiting on strik3rs 3788r graph. Angus Smart
I'm sold on the 4088r 1.06a/r unless strik3r comes up with something better with the 3788 found on the uk forum 2.7L high lift cams 1 bar by around 3500 with a 4088r on a cheap manifold.. r33cruiser
what would anyone sugest for a r34 gt-t. is a gt3582 to big will i have a lag monster? f**k no. Go to a track day and talk to a few people. Odds are you will find a similar car with the 35 on it, ask if you can go passenger. Best way to find out what a turbo is like. .63 boost by 3500 .84 boost by 3800-4000 Get one, dont be a pussy Edited January 31, 2010 by r33cruiser Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/246293-gt35r-vs-garrett-t04z-discussion-just-post-in-this-thread-to-create-a-database/page/36/#findComment-5062963 Share on other sites

DCIEVE
Thought I'd post some pics of the atp gt35 t4 ts 1.06 exh housing given there are very few (that I could find) detailed pics of these housings floating around. In short the casting quality is poor, with evidence of weld repaired porosity. I would be interested in hearing what the turbo experts think of the divider geometry in particular. Flange and discharge aren't concentric. Porosity and weld repair. Thoughts? juggernaut1
ATP housings aren't well finished compared to the Garrett offerings.....assuming you can get the Garrett equivalent or at least an ATP modified Garrett (for example the GT32 T3 .78). From memory based on what I've read on other forums, ATP use a sand casting method for there housings. For comparison purposes an old .82 Garrett I had lying around with weld on 4 bolt flange. Lithium
Hmm I'll have to take pics of the one I have here for comparison when there is more light, tbh I never really thought too much of it but I'll check tomorrow and maybe post them up (if I remember haha) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/246293-gt35r-vs-garrett-t04z-discussion-just-post-in-this-thread-to-create-a-database/page/36/#findComment-5269919 Share on other sites

Jap_Muscle
Hi Guys, just an update on my progress. After fixing some AFR issues we saw power shoot to 354rwkw on my R34 gtt rb26/30 gt35r equipped setup. as mentioned before here are the specs RB26 head intake ported to runners standard everything else valve springs tested (no float, working condition) rb30 cp pistons spool rods 9:1 ratio cosmetic head gasket gt35r .82 turbo Cooling Pro FMIC 600x300x76 (no pressure drop test as yet) UPDATE: After checking the manufacters website ive found the following facts about the FMIC Super efficient vaccum brazed Bar and Plate core, capable of flowing up to 1020 CFM Low pressure drop across the core - Approximately 0.2% at 15 PSI ^^ does this sound like a intercooler capable of 400kw on my current setup? 3.5" dump 3.5" straight pipe exhaust (mild steel) Nismo twin plate supper coppermix clutch 354.2rwkw @ 18psi what i did want to ask is i understand there is about 6-7 different gt35r turbos taht garrett offer from wheel sizes to exhaust housings. can anyone help me confirm which one mine is exactly and the hp it is rated at? Part: KC 0156J 706451 5015 my plans are to have a chat to plazmaman about custom making a 3" piping intercooler to match my front bar sizing. unsure if this will push me over 400rwkw but i do believe it is the weakest link in the build so far. If anyone has any other suggestions or hints that could possibly help me, id be very much in debt. Thanks Edited September 9, 2010 by Jap_Muscle Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/246293-gt35r-vs-garrett-t04z-discussion-just-post-in-this-thread-to-create-a-database/page/36/#findComment-5439228 Share on other sites
R31Nismoid
cooler piping size isn't your issue - test the damn cooler for pressure drop. forget any quoted specs, half that shit never rings true - same as cat convertors and stuff.
