Gt35r Vs Garrett T04z - Discussion (just Post In This Thread To Create A Database)

basically If you want a track car I recommend twin set up..and power around 300-350kw atw is really good. If you hungry for power and like 1/4 mile go for single..with Single you always upgrade for further power. I am currently running a T04Z with .84AR and making easy 410kw atw on pump fuel and my Fuel pump is starting to leaning out on me. But consider that kind of power it wasnt that laggy for me. Full Boost at 4600rpm and all the way too 8800rpm on only 20psi of boost. Could of gotten more Kw but dint wanna take the risk until I upgrade my fuel pump. I am thinking of going to upgrade the Rear housing to 1.0AR or 1.15AR and see what I can get out of it. let you guys know the result later.

Hi Guys.

I got my car back from Godzilla Motorsport yesterday and took it straight to willowbank. Huge thanks to Mark for giving his time up to finish the car.

Wasnt sure about some of the dyno numbers as car only had half the contact patch of tire (large camber (front&rear for circuit)) on the rollers and was overheating and wheel spinning my RE55 semi slicks. (Does anyone have any feedback with this on dynos before altering numbers (prob the semis?)

GT3582R .82 rear 6boost steampipe manifold on an RB26

We made 330kw atw 20 psi on BP Ultimate, took it to Willowbank ran 2 passes best was 11.1@125mph

Will try upload a dyno graph, truth is, I'm not sold and arent caring too much about the numbers there, the real numbers are what it ran at the drags.... :)

Massive thanks to Godzilla Motorsport. :worship: Can't wait to get to the circuit in the new year!

very nice mick! Would have loved to have lined up against you yesterday but my clutch had other ideas. I'd say that power figure is about on the money for 20psi on that turbo. Any reason you stopped at 20psi ? Should handle 25 easily enough even with pump fuel. (Noel was running 26psi through his 3540 on pump). Thats gotta be worth another 30kw at least ?

yeah, okay, wasnt sure what to expect out of the 35R, i thought it owuld have made 350kw on 20psi. THat's cool though, Im rapped with teh drags numbers.. didnt know where to stop really, wanted a circuit tune that was fat and safe, not peak kw.

Might go back and re-tune for 24psi then! :(

Nice work man :) What tyres etc were you using?? How do you find the GT35R overall?

265x35x18 Falken 595RS, 20psi all round. 1.67 & 1.69 60 footers. could be a heap better? :|

Not sure on how I find the 35R yet, really havent driven it much except at the drags. On the 6boost manifold it seems to hit boost real easy and is not laggy at all. Hits and pulls plenty hard. Guessing 20psi is at around 4300rpm.

I'm happy with it, and happy I didnt go a bigger T04Z.... :D

Plenty of guys havent run a 10 on a T04Z, so I'm happy with 11.1 on 20psi on a GT35... :D

Michael

Just found this thread link. In summary the member switched from a 4067 on his RB26 to a twin scroll 3582 and is now reportedly making 20 psi by 3500 rpm....good stuff.

just as a comparison we usually get 20psi by 4000rpm with a t04z and make 370rwkw or more on the same boost

I'm guessing thats on a 3litre? Unless there is something I've not heard about (in which case a dyno sheet with boost plotted on it would be very nice) that you can do to bring them on harder, I find that VERY VERY VERY hard to believe. If you can make a T04Z do that, I'd love to see what you can do with a GT35R!

Also on the dyno we use, a setup identical to wrxkilla's made 370wkw @ 20psi with full boost at 4300rpm - sounds like the dyno he ran on is quite conservative.

massively interested to see dyno sheets of the T04Z making 20psi at 4000rpm.

I'm not fussed about outright power, I know the T04Z can make more. its about where it makes it. I will massively eat my foot if I can see T04Z on a RB26 making 20psi at 4000rpm !

yer i think 20psi at 4000rpm is abit optimistic on a 2.6L but im sure a dyno graph will tell otherwise, mines a 2.7L and still more lag? i got bigger cams, better valves, etc as well, so it must be the manifold if anything. 370kw on 20psi seems abit low but with cams and a built motor?

20psi at 4250-4300 here with a 35r .82, could be improved a few hundred rpm if the curve didnt lay over

Any chance you can copy over the key details? It wont let me view the thread...

edit; what rpm is a 32gtr doing at 120km/h??

Edited by DCIEVE

yeh so do I... still doesnt explain why your 800rpm more responsive than any other 35r on rb26 I've heard.

Do you have a dyno sheet with boost curve or are you approximating from road driving?

watched on the dyno and the road. don't know where my dyno sheet is. i put a new fuel pump in it today, just need some bigger injectors and i'll retune it. my tuner can't graph against rpm though. i,ve got a six boost manifold with 1 inch runners and standard cams set to 2 and 4 degrees.

If you guys are getting those results with a stock capacity, stock comp ratio 26 and t04Z... the im ripping off my twin RS's on a 9.0:1 comp RB 28 and throwing on one of those puppies. Thats insane! Dyno pages PLEASE!!!!

maaaaaaan im not getting 20psi anywhere near you guys.

GT3566R

im not finding 20 till about 4700rpm.

i think my manifold is abit of an older design but still..........

plus its a 25/30, with a 1.06 on the rear, and std cams

still reeled of a 11.39 @ 127mph with a 1.95 60' with street slicks

check the graph

    • Yeh... literally every time i jump on a forum, see an instagram post or see an engine bay at a car show, i get an idea and add it to my 'to do' list. So what started off as, hey can u just make a couple of intake hard pipes because my dumbass bought the wrong apexi kit, blew out into a 2 week job including braided brake lines & custom bash kit for the front lip haha.  Getting Luke from A4E engineering to make a full custom exhaust with a controllable aes dump valve so i can actually switch between quiet and loud, because right now its just loud all day every day. Then after that go and get the tune redone flex e85 & 98 as i get bugger all milage from e85, makes going for longer drivers difficult
    • Car looks clean as. You ended up getting quite a bit done 😂  So what's the plan for the exhaust?
    • The only Neo rods that were any different to any other RB25 rods were the DET ones, and they were the same as RB26. Here is a Neo DET rod. O5U part number visible. Here is a post in a thread here on SAU with evidence from someone who has done this before. There are photos in the thread of normal RB25 rods.
    • Sure, but why assume that will be the case forever? And why assume you'll be able to do an oil change to swap back to a stock drain bolt before that happens? And does it even matter when I change the oil at fairly short intervals? Life can be funny sometimes and unexpected things can happen. Like breaking a collarbone so you can't do any work on your car for a few months but the oil change is due so you have to take it to somewhere and hope they don't do something stupid like stacking the new drain plug washer on top of the old one.
    • Do u know how to identify the rods are rb25 or neo ones? Can u look into the pics and tell me is they de or de neo ones. Its confusing becoz my motor has de neo head but block is 25de 75t, so really confusing me about rods, crank.
