I went there on Monday.. did the price jump up or something?

Great bubble tea!! I ordered a bubble tea and its $5.00 now rather then $4.50 (what it was before).

It is now the most expensive bubble tea in Australia.

Just curious to know - why the rise?

Financial crisis, Falling dollar...

Hey Andrew,

As a Business Risk Analysis, I would recommend to keep the prices the same OR cheaper - this would definitely attract new potential customers rather then deflecting them.

But hey, thats my 2 cents.

Falling of the dollar? = So the price of the bubble tea is to rise or fall due to the dollar?

cost of food as we all know has sky rocketed

how can restaurants/food/cafe stores

keep prices down when there suppliers are charging more?

because importers/distributors are paying more coz of the falling dollar

this not only goes for "imported" goods but for Australian grown crops too

eg

a 25kg bag of rice was $25 8 months ago, its $54 today

Cooking oil/Lard was $45/25kg now $73

at the end of the day your trying to make a living

its definately not because shops want to charge more

or because they "can" charge more

i think its more of a necessity

and if people arent willing to spend/consume

then business will fold/down scale

Most business's fail within the first 5 years?

What I'm trying to get at is that the market is very competitive.

There are at least 3 other bubble teas in the surround area that sell it for alot cheaper = $4.00 includes sago/jelly as to $5.00.

Its all common sense - would you go to a place that sells an item that is $X or go to a nearby store, for the similar product, for a cheaper deal.

Most business's fail within the first 2-3 years and that is because they have not gained enough reputation or market themselves properly.

Majority of consumers are attracted to the PRICE at first, they will only return to the store if the QUALITY is good.

This is just my opinion to make things more attractive which will hopefully increase sales.

Just some pointers to Andrew and his sis with their new biz.

You certainly have a very valid point

Im never up there so i dont know how competitive it is/who else sells bubble tea etc

Im just expressing my opinion that things are costing more

even KFC has rised there prices earlier this year!

(and no im not comparing KFC to bubble teas)

at the end of the day you will support a mate or your his family if they are in bisness even if it cost you an extra $1.00

andrew sorry to here we have cancled looking forward to the next one

yerh looking forward to the next one hopefully would be next week. rhys i see you reading this looks like you can join us afterall :) .

as per bbt increase, majority of the food products have jumped in the last month or so. aussie dollar really stinks atm so no one would want to invest with some aus shares, export isnt doing very well so some goods that business buys has increase ---> increase in price on food.

at the end of the day its really deal or no deal for business, regular customers will still come bak and pay that buck extra or stay with same price and see same faces plus new ones but again its not really garanteed.

business is a gamble it really depends on the customer wants, not with prices.

andrew sorry to here we have cancled looking forward to the next one

mate, yeah we are all here to support each other but is that enough? Obviously you would need to target the outter market as well. And since the business is so new (2months), rising it very early can cause problems in targeting the market as they may go as well to get the same product.

People that have been there already may come back if its an extra dollar up but for the people that haven't - it surely is a gamble.

true but every dollar counts and im glad to help when help is needed if we can spread it around it all helps we need more cruzes droping in there see you no the next one

r33 baby...il pay the dollar for you on the next cruise i go to :O

but on a more serious note..food prices have risen and sometimes for a smaller business to survive they have to put up prices abit because they cant afford to buy wholesale items and stock like the bigger stores.
