Hi, R31 Noob - Need Exhaust And Tune Suggestions

Hey all,

I'm sorta new to the forums (forgot my old account details, and no access to old email account).

I'm in the process of purchasing an R31 Silohouette with an RB30ET in it. I checked it out and it seems to run pretty well, it's straight and priced well. It does run a little rich and could use a tune. Also needs to have the exhasut replaced (current one is huge 3"+ and LOUD).

I need to get this car tuned and would like to get the exhaust replaced with a nicer looking and quieter one (maybe a nice ~2" twin pipe). Anyone know any particularly good places to get either of these things (tune/exhaust on and RB30ET) in South East Melbourne (as far south east as possible, i'm on Phillip Island)? Car is getting roadworthied at Protek in Preston next week, I'll be picking it up shortly after that.

Any help is much appreciated. I've got pretty limited mechanical experience but i've got quite a few tools, and some ramps and a nice jack. I was thinking of changing the exahust over myself. Is this a hard feat on an R31?

Hey buddy, do the exhaust yourself. Its easy and will save a bit of money. Get a second hand one off either here or the r31 forums. The r31 forums will give you ALL the info you are after as a lot more of them have 31's than on SAU.
