Well folks, after 18 months of waiting, to no avail, and a protracted legal battle, settlement has been reached and most of my losses recouped. My 2004 NM35 Axis with VQ25DET motor was exchanged for a cash settlement with the RAWS shop who gave me the wrong advice about compliance. There's still no sign of this motor being able to meet the ADR specifications, and this whole farce has been a monumental waste of my time, and a good deal of my money.

I believe Muz's case is now being handled by my lawyers, and I wish him every success in achieving a satisfactory outcome.

If only the RAWS shop had done the right thing and bought the car off me in the first instance that a claim was made, they would have saved them and me a lot of money in legals. The terms of the settlement include a gag order, so don't ask me to name and shame.

Cheers and farewell to all.

Matthew

Congratulations Matthew on prevailing through the courts.

It is unfortunate that you (and your family) had to go through all of this, but I am glad that it returned a favourable outcome for you.

Hi Matthew

Glad to hear that at last you have been compensated.

Sorry your Stagea experience has been so difficult.

I wish you luck in your next car.

Cheer

Andy

Not the best outcome, but an outcome nevertheless. Good luck with your next car dude and thanks for being so open with your experience. No doubt many have benefited from the info.

Congratulations - at least now you have some closure and can move on! Shame you still didn't get your car out of it, but at least you didn't lose too much either.

It could have been better, but by the same token it could have been a lot worse!

Mat its a real shame they couldnt get this car approved.....not to rub salt in the wounds but the AXIS is an amazing machine to drive...I've had mine for about a month now its an 03 Silver and I had the pleasure of joining a few fellow enthusiasts last night through an amazing peice of tarmac that was literally like a roller coaster & the Autech tuned machine lived up to and exceeded my expectations when pushed harder than I imagined possible.

Glad to hear the nightmares over and justice prevailed...now move forward, keep up the good spirit and I'm sure an AXIS will come you way....check out my post on Project AXIS

$9,000 in legal fees to recover $26,000. Me happy? Not.

No - not going near another import.

Besides with the Yen not far off half what it was when I bought the car, the numbers don't add up any more.

Plenty of local bargains to be had right now.
