Hi, I just bought a battery to replace the old one in my skyline that's been sitting around for 6months. Problem is, the terminals are too big for the clamps to fit around.

Is there anything that can be done about it? Maybe rewire some new clamps or something?

Also if i need to grab a different battery, what specs do i need? any particular CCA or anything?

thanks

-some noobie guy

EDIT: oh right, it's a '98 r34

yes just get new terminals, big grip ones that have maximun surface contact.

Just to let u know also if u have an r33 the battery is in the boot an by law the battery must be a sealed lead with a vent hose that goes through a special hole located to the left of the battery on the floor through a rubber bung ..

I reckon its bs but i got pulled up with that on a rwc ..

I never knew what that hole was for b4 that ..

If u get the right sized battery for the car it will fit. Your alternator should last longer too. Just look in the catalogues provided in store. Cover the terminals in vaseline or petroleum jelly once installed also

Kinda as mick said, you can get a fully sealed battery which is legal and requires no vent (expensive but), or a battery with a vent. Using a tube, the vent is used to carry flammable gas (thats created during the charging process) outside the car.
