Beach To Burger Crusie Wrap Up 27/11/08

Cruises aren't the ONLY thing members are interested in... and most financial members that adhere to our rules are not overly interested in going to krispy kreme type meets (not really a cruise imo anyway). There's some very good reasons why our meets/cruises are run different to NS type meets. Anyway I don't want to get into an hour long argument about that.

Organising a cruise also involves going on the 4-5 hr trip beforehand to check out the roads/route (and its probably longer than that). Plus admin stuff for the cruises, insurance and so forth.

And being an events co-ordinator, is not just a couple of hours every Fri night.

It's easy to be critical when you aren't in the position yourself and you don't really understand what's happening behind the scenes.

To be on general committee you need to be able to get along with the rest of the committee, set a good example to other members, uphold the values of the club, do the right thing by the members and enforce the rules so noone ruins it for the rest of us.

If you are serious about being on general committee, rather than trying to rally support of the members, I would suggest you perhaps send a brief email to the exec committee ([email protected]) stating your interest and what help you can bring to the club/committee. Its likely some of the current exec committee will be in those positions again this year.

I agree 100% with you if you are referring to the position that Wayne has.

However what Kris is talking about is the sub-event organiser positions which Dezz and AP were assigned to.

Basically Ash posted up a thread asking for help and these two were the first to raise their hands for the position.

Hope that clears up what type of event organiser position Kris and myself are interested in becoming a part of.

Cheers

Again, goes to show just how little you know about what goes on behind the scenes.

Not to worry though, I feel no need (and I doubt AP does either) to justify myself to you, Kris, or anyone else that would like to pipe up.

This burger cruise was planned by kris, ap and myself and then was posted online seconds after the conversation. Although this doesn't fall into the lines of an official sauvic cruise (with insurance, licenses etc) it was still regarded as an sauvic event (reviewed during general meeting).

This is where some of the confusion has come through due to no "behind the scenes" planning.

All im interested in is helping in planning little events outside of cruises (dinner, gokarts, paintball etc) just like this burger meet...

Hope this clarifies any issues

man, this smells like the americans voting for a new president.

people getting dirty on each other, taking sides.

im pretty sure we will vote in who we think will do the job right.

this is a community of mates who share the same passion. not a dictator ship on who gets to plan the next event.

i get where your coming from Patrick, mini-events that dont, run the risk of the public with a convoy of cars coming through there town (i dont know the behind the scenes to cruise's)

,days of planing, test runs, getting the all clear from who ever it may concern yada yada yada.

there is a 'voting' system in place im lead to belive, which will give the committe a third opinion on what we want as members, for this club to run smoothly.

i dont know many of you personally, but as of right now Dezz is still in rank, and Kris you need to take another angle into getting people to see things your way and score some 'votes'.

just my 2cents .......... ;)
