Hey all,

Just wondering what i can/cannot have on my car when i put it through an ID inpsection (same to defect inpsection?) at regency.

Recently purchased a 32 gtr from interstate now its here, all stock apart from

-ballast hid kit

-turbo timer (now pulled out)

-gear knob no shift pattern (will a sticker pattern do?)

Cheers guys

id checks and regency inspections are very different.

theyre only checking to make sure all the numbers make sense when you got to an id check (make sure its not stolen, etc), however, if youre car is obviously defectable, sitting on the deck, huge wheels poking out the gaurds, exhaust that you can hear from the next postcode, etc, they will send you to regency, just be sensible. and yes, a sticker with the shift pattern on it will suffice.

My tip - don't get the woman inspector lol. She spent a good 20 minutes just searching for my engine number. She was so rude!

But yeah, make sure stuff like:

-Tyre must have 80k/h written on it

-This might not apply to you, but I needed the GTR manual in my glovebox!

-Tyres are correct size as per tyre placard (again, might not apply)

-Baby restraints are in

-Seat belts working

It's pretty easy to pass

Mind riot, well done for getting through with only 1 inspection!

Pod filters will always pass, provided they are secure and stuff.

Yeah i had brackets made up for the pod

regency guy was trying to move and yeah good luck doing that

its tight as....lol he was a pain last time around

haha my car had horrible braking first time round coz the fluid was all dirty and i got 98% average... it felt so unsafe to drive.

pod filter will pass with brackets

front mounts will pass if the reo hasn't been cut, they're not fussed about sheet metal bit as long as its neatly cut and rust proofed. (and even most of the time trimmed reo bars will pas as long as they aren't cut straight down the middle sorta thing)

cat back is fine as long as its within legal noise.

hi mate, make sure you have your full VIN stamped on the RH shock tower or some other place. the workshop next door will be happy to empty your wallet by $50 to stamp afew numbers.

i would like to see the results of the brake test now lol

slotted rotors bite so much harder....

mmmm you're teasing me

im getting my slotted rotors in 2-3 weeks... cant bloody wait... never actually done a brake/abs test  anyone know of any place I can test it without getting a baton shoved up my back passage?

-D
