cheers for the quik reply mate..

im not 100 percent sure, the FMIC is infront of the radiator, about 20 centermeters or so infront of the radiator..

it doesnt look like a massive cut job,

how would i go about getting a new reo bar if needed?

thanks.

cheers..

the current intercooler i got on in greddy, a kit, not made specially for r33 skyline..

if i was to sell that and buy a intercooler made for r33, then somehow figure how to cover up the chassis.. good idea?

im kinda trippin cos i dont want to get defected. want to keep my mind at peace.

if you read through a few pages back i mentioned what was legal which came straight out of the inspectors mouth.

front mounts will pass if the reo hasn't been cut, they're not fussed about sheet metal bit as long as its neatly cut and rust proofed. (and even most of the time trimmed reo bars will pas as long as they aren't cut straight down the middle sorta thing)

sheet metal bit is the part of your car that has been cut. However, if the cut was made too low and in to the actual chassis (aka. backyard ghetto job) then your car will be blacklisted, never to be registered again until you get an engineers certificate stating it has been fixed properly.

just take a look in to the engine bay under the washer bottle and see if the pipe is coming through the hole above the flat part of the chassis rail.

cheers mate..

i had a look, and the pipe is coming from the side of the washer bottle.. just a small whole to fit that in..

and also that cross bar that holds the radiator up.. it has been cut in front of the radiator where it goes towards the front bumperbar.

it looks like i can just bolt on another cross bar thats holding up the radiator.

it doesnt look like a shonky job.

but you can get certificates if you get defectd?

yes, i believe so. Another option is to buy an FMIC core, mounted to your specified location, and take it to an exhaust shop to have the piping plumbed to suit the location of the core.

Will the stock r33 series 1 reo bar fit over a greddy fmic without modification?

What are the dimensions?

If its 600x300x76 or bigger then no, you will have to slightly trim the reo bar. Not sire for r34 but i haven't seen a single r33 with a big intercooler that didn't need it trimmed.

Yep thats the size.

Are the reo bars from skylines interchangable? Will an R33 GTR reo bar fit an R33 GTST?

my intercooler is a decent size, like its abit bigger then my radiator.. and they didnt cut the reo bar.. just abit of the radiator support..

only thing they cut on reo bar was a hole for the pipes.

The hole would be made in the shell i would think and not the reo mate

    • Gents, it will be getting the MX5 Mania kit and the 2.5 will be staying where it is My query was about the 0.64 or the 0.86, whilst the 0.64 might spool a bit faster, would the 0.86 be better IRT EGT and mechanical sympathy, with only a small difference in spool And as I assume I won't need alot of boost to get to 200kw, probably around 10 psi, and with max rpm at 6500, would high EGT even really be a issue with a 0.64 I'm heading into MX5 Mania at the end of Jan to discuss the install, so any info is welcome prior to that Basically have a chat and book a time so they can throw on the turbo kit, and fit a oil cooler with a thermostat, drive in drive out of course  In other news: just finished cleaning the car inside and out, it's now all ready to get covered in bugs and dirt driving to Goulburn tomorrow to lunch,  and go for a stroll along woolondilly River with the daughter and her boy, and of course, visit my grandcats and my new grandpuppy
    • Sounds like it has an actual problem with mode select doors, or something.
    • Hope your all having a mean Xmas! If anyone happens to know any trick to using the insanely complex climate control system, I cannot get it to not be on dual zone no matter how many times I deselect it (will say it's not but both vents blow different temps). Also one side is always hot, one always cold 🤷
