I think its because they believe its unsafe to have your car engine running whilst not having to have a key in the ignition, i.e. a car whose engine is running that is unattended and unable to be turned off immediatly if required.

I am not sure why this is a problem mate, just what Ive heard.

got defected for track and a turbo timer the other night which sucks, just wondering why the hell a turbo timer is defectable? anyone know? i mean they add absolutely no perfomance and they come out standard in trucks.

turbo timers are useless in passenger cars.

learn how to drive easily for a few kilometres or idle your car for 30-60 seconds when you park. not that hard.

its been covered about 4,000 times why theyre not legal. just search for 'turbo timer'.

hey guys my mate just got defected (regency), hes got a pretty nuts chaser and were looking at his options now. if you could help out with providing maybe a chaser forum you know or sumone willing to lend sum parts will be awesome.

this is wat the car has:

forged motor

t67 turbo

external gate

greddy emanage

blitz electronic boost controller

full origin body kit with vented front guards

all around greddy coilovers

reclinable bucket seat

these are just some of the major things that we think aint gonna let the car pass

the car is immaculate so hes pretty devo and its too nice to turn it into a track car. :domokun:

hes just not sure on costs of having to buy stocko parts to put on. so were thinking of maybe selling it as is or swapping it for sumthin he can use cuz hes sick of it being defected.thats if we cant find ne1 2 maybe lend out sum parts.

go to a few importers or import wreckers, most are willing to help out with lending parts

Or if you can't/don't want to do it yourself. Take it down to a place like Sinergy or JMS and get them to take the car off defect for you

thus is true. cost a mate $1200 to get synergy to get his car past regency and it was VIRTUALLY stock. its costly but you knw the car will come back in one piece and past first time evrytime.

i personally would use JMS. synergy just rip ppl off

does anybody know if a aluminium radiator will have any problems goin through regency? (JJR aluminum radiator just for the record). or an oil cooler?

they shouldnt. neither are performance or structural mods - both are for engine longevity.

    • God I love shiny engine parts 🥰 Are you looking for more horsetorques in the mid range? (Smaller cam) Or just more horsetorques every where? (Big heads and bigger revs) Assumption: they were not bought late night shopping on the interwebs after drinking too many beers, which is typically how I pull pins on things......🤣 The evolution of your car is coming along nicely, I sometimes wish I didn't get bored with my cars and keep flipping them, maybe the MX5 will be different
    • I got the hazards working! Turned out it was disconnected! Indicator stock still isn’t working. I took the steering shroud off and there seems to be a third connection missing I see two small white connectors but they don’t fit the indicator switch unless they need a short lead to convert the connector type. Can someone point me in the direction of the wiring diagram for the indicator switch?   https://share.icloud.com/photos/0e8ReiFSLBVJsTPUKKfA_1IdQ
    • All of your suspension bushes/bolts etc, should also only ever be tightened when the car is sitting with full weight too.   IE, jack it back up, shove a heap of stuff down so you can lower the wheels onto so the car is "on the ground" but you have room to get under it.   It's why when properly done, you should be able to remove the shock and spring, but the arms won't go to 100% droop. If you don't do the above, you'll destroy your bushes.
